We invite you to enjoy the magnificent tranquility of Peak View Cabin. Nestled in 10 acres of golden tussock with expansive views of the Ben Ohau Range and beyond. Relax, unwind and de-stress in the beautiful isolation with ever changing mountain views.

A short 15 minute drive from Twizel, the cabin has easy access to all the natural amenities the Mackenzie Region is renowned for. Such as - cycling & mountain biking, tramping & hiking, snow sports, hunting and fishing to name but a few.

The space
This beautifully styled cabin combines modern convenience, touches of luxury and rustic charm to create a cosy bolt hole in which you can't help but unwind and replenish your soul.

Rediscover the sound of silence, marvel at the wonder of nature or just gaze at the stars. This really is the perfect spot to master the art of doing absolutely nothing, or engage in as much activity as you like.

Rural and sparsely populated, it's important to note that extremes of weather (heat and snow) are possible at certain times of year. Wildlife is also abundant.

- No TV. Honestly, you will not miss it

- Wifi is available. Speeds my vary due to location. If you're thinking about watching movies etc while you're here please consider downloading them before your trip.

- We get good mobile and data coverage on Skinny and 2 Degrees.

Peak View Cabin is nestled in 10 acres of golden Tussock with spectacular mountain views.

It's a short 10 minute drive to our nearest town, Twizel. Here you will find a wide selection of amenities for your convenience such as cafes, bars, takeaways, supermarkets, bike hire, hunting and fishing supplies.

Looking wider afield, the Mackenzie region is home to New Zealand's highest mountains, awe inspiring glaciers and stunning turquoise lakes. Lake Ohau, 10 mins. Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, 40 mins. Lake Pukaki 20 mins. Lake Tekapo, 40 mins are all easily accessible.

The clear skies found in the Mackenzie Region are like nothing else in New Zealand. The very limited light pollution ensures the views of the night sky can be spectacular and the area is among the worlds best places for star gazing.

If you're active then the area boasts a large selection of hikes for all experience and fitness levels. The Hooker Valley Track is an absolute must for any visitor. If cycling is your thing then our close proximity to the Alps2Ocean trail is ideal, as are the long flat roads that follow the canal network.

You can even try your hand at Salmon fishing on the canals.

Peak View Cabin makes a perfect base to explore all the region has to offer or simply relax by the wood burner in the cosy comfort of the cabin and do nothing.

Twizel truly is a slice of heaven being situated amongst vast canal and lake systems of which are beautiful in colour and perfect for the keen and opportunistic fisher. With The southern alps providing the perfect backdrop to the region, and Aoraki / Mt Cook close by, it makes it hard not bask in the beauty of the land. Whether you’re here to unwind, take advantage of what the region has to offer or just passing through, your time spent here will be far from forgettable.
