Beautiful fully remodeled loft space, you'll feel refreshed and vibrant after staying here! Come enjoy a stunning room full of south-facing windows, exposed brick wall, original beams, and a WINDOW IN THE SHOWER (yes, you heard us right). ** NOTE: this is a private unit, and we professionally clean all the units between guests. For the time being, we are not accepting healthcare workers who work directly with COVID-infected patients. Thank you!! ** (Also, check out our other four listings!)

The space
This is the best apartment. Seriously. It is just so beautiful, spacious, cozy, and also such fun and funky moments.

There are two entrance-options: one through the back and one through the shared hallway. It is on the second floor, so there is one flight of steps you need to climb. When you enter from outside, you immediately notice the high ceilings, exposed beams, and beautiful new white oak floors. The kitchen and living room area is south-facing with two whole walls of windows, so there is sun pretty much any time of the day. It is also a corner property so no other buildings block the sunlight.

Of note, everyone in our building is very COVID-conscious, wears masks with non-pod-friend-visits, and is for the most part isolating as much as possible.

The unit has stunning views overlooking Larchwood Ave and situated just a few blocks from Baltimore Ave to the south, and Spruce Street to the North, you won't be far from amazing restaurants, nightlife, and an overall sense of the West Philly community. During COVID, the local restaurants are being very careful and following protocols, and there are still many fun things to do.

UPenn campus is approximately a 20-minute walk (on nice tree-lined residential streets) or a 10 minute Uber ride. Center city is a 20-minute Uber ride. More details regarding proximity to public transport: We are 5 blocks from the 34 Trolley that can take you to Center City in about 15 minutes. The trolley runs every 15 minutes. The trolley also stops at UPenn on its way (about 10 minutes from us). The L train is 12 blocks from us, and that can take you to northern liberties and fishtown easily. If you want to look at locations of these things on a map, just search 'Larchwood and 51st Street', for the exact location of our house. Thank you!

More about the unit:

KITCHEN: The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge, large sink, and is sensibly appointed and fully stocked with cooking implements, modern appliances, and the beloved Nespresso machine (we also have a French press and plenty of pre-ground Starbucks coffee available if that is more up your alley). The kitchen area has a couch, two chairs, coffee table, and stool-height bar table constructed (by us) from solid wood. Great place to study, drink your coffee, and people watch. The couch also pulls out into a queen-sized bed (Ikea-style).

BEDROOM: The bedroom area is separated from the kitchen with a sliding barn door. There is a queen bed, and stand-alone closet for your clothes and belongings. There is a flatscreen TV with netflix/HBO/amazon prime that swivels from the wall to face any direction you want.

BATHROOM: The bathroom is like a hotel with a sink on the outside! There is a window in the wall looking into the sink area and another window in the wall on the shower side. Why did we do a window in the shower you ask? Well, I (Hannah) have always imagined someone would bring me a coffee while I take a shower in the morning, if only I had a shower with a window. So we built that!

The apartment has brand-new heating and AC system for maximum comfort (minisplits), as well as access to wifi, and fresh, clean linens (with plenty more available if you need at any point).

This apartment is on the second floor of an amazing eight-unit building. This building is populated by some of West Philly's most interesting and friendly folks (seriously, if you get a chance to chat with any one of them about philosophy, politics, podcasts, or just the latest Netflix series, you will not regret it).

We (Hannah and Nate) live in a unit on the third floor, right above this unit, so if you need anything it takes about 30 seconds for us to get to you. We are always available to help with whatever you need!

We are obsessed with West Philly. This vibrant, alternative community is a welcoming, lively, and diverse place, and by far our favorite place in the entire city. There are plenty of exciting bars and restaurants, as well as parks to explore. It is known to be a hip and bohemian part of Philly, and is also unique in that there are trees, porches and yards along the streets. A perfect place to relax, kick up your feet, and enjoy the city all at the same time! Access to center city and the other areas of the city is easy via car, bus, or train. It takes about 20 minutes to get to center city from our place.

If you want to learn more about the neighborhood, you can find plenty online about Cedar Park with a simple web search.
