This is and original and charming 1860s Settlers Cottage, which back then had only two rooms downstairs and a loft. Now, the modern kitchen and dining space are fully equipped to self-cater along with a BBQ in the ever-so-cosy alfresco living space accessed through French doors off the kitchen. Two queen bedrooms and two bathrooms make it the perfect place for two couples to stay.

The space
In the loft, built into the A-frame roof, is a cosy bedroom with a quirky en suite. The original family had their eight children sleeping in the loft. When it came to bedtime, they were given a leg-up through a hole in the lounge ceiling. Rest assured; access is easier today via steps up from the snug although those of you with a height advantage will need to mind your head! The downstairs bedroom is serviced by the main bathroom.

At the end of the night – or any time – “the snug” awaits where you can watch standard TV
channels or a movie on demand via the internet enabled TV – if you have a Netflix (or other streaming service) you can Chromecast to the TV. Or just take a moment to reflect on the day with whisky at hand. A heat pump and log-burner are at the ready if required. You'll also find a Nespresso machine in the kitchen.

Settlers Cottage is on State Highway 2, a block north from the centre of Greytown, which is bursting with retail opportunities, cafés, restaurant and hotels. The owners when in Greytown reside in an apartment at the back of the garage.
