After starting a modular building company in 2009, Northern Shield Development, we have finally taken the time to build something for ourselves. Our cottage is built using 3 containers as well as some conventional construction. It combines a modern-industrial feel with exposed steel and beams, while maintaining a cozy cottage feel with shiplap and soft texture.

It’s been a place for us to get away and escape the craziness of the times we’ve been living in, and we’d love to share it with you!

Our cottage is located at beautiful Farlain lake, and although it is not directly on the water, it is only a few short steps away from the lake.

The neighborhood is a combination of cottages and permanent residents, most of which have lived in the area for many years. It is a friendly area where people know each other and take care of one another.
