Loosie's by the Beach is .3 miles to the beach, that is less than a 5-minute walk to the beach. No need to drive, park or pay for the public beach. It is centrally located in the middle of the island, approximately equal distance to the other west end beaches and the east end ferry at Fort Gaines over to Fort Morgan. It is 1 of 4 units (furthest from the road), enjoy the quiet peaceful pines all around with a covered porch and shade to protect you from the sun all day. Come and enjoy!

The space
The condo is bright and colorfully decorated. There are two bedrooms with comfy queen beds and two full bathrooms (1 is a walk-in accessible shower); and there is a queen daybed in the living room. In the kitchen there is a 6-person table and an eat-in bar. The kitchen is complete with anything you could need to cook, eat, and drink. There are some spices and other cooking essentials, along with water in the refrigerator to get you started and a few snacks just to make it feel like home. Extra pillows, bedding, and blankets too. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in the unit. There is also a wheelchair ramp for accessibility. We have some beach items you are welcome to use and a charcoal grill on the porch.

Dauphin Island, Alabama, United States

Dauphin Island is a fabulous barrier island on the Gulf Coast, 30 miles south of Mobile, AL. It is small town, safe, quiet, and relaxing. We have one intersection and no stop lights. There is plenty to see and do but should NOT be confused with nearby Gulf Shores and Orange Beach which are across Mobile Bay. We have a welcome book that introduces you to the island. There is information about local sites, things to do (e.g., fishing, sightseeing), places to explore (e.g., beaching, biking, birding), dining (e.g., restaurants, bars). We have beach passes for the local beaches on the west end. We are happy to make recommendations and answer your questions. When you reach the last leg of your trip, you have a 30-mile drive to the island from Mobile. Your options for shopping greatly diminish so make sure to bring most of what you need to minimize the number of last-minute shopping that will be more expensive on the island and the selection not as good. On the island we have Ship and Shore Grocery and Circle K. We recommend if you did not pack it and you want it, stop in Tillman’s Corner or at one of the many Dollar General stores you will pass coming onto the island (not on the island).

Ride bikes (mountain and motorcycle), relax on or near beach. Nothing like the salt air!
Love the Carribean just never seem to get back there.
