Tucked away at the top of Slieveanore, crisscrossed by gushing streams in the midst of mossy riparian woodland, is a magical hide-away for you & your family to escape it all & immerse yourselves in nature.

Wander through the woods, take a dip in the cool water or simply lie back in a hammock & let your senses soak up the beauty of the world around you. As the sun sets, the stars emerge in the unspoilt sky while you cosy up with toasted marshmallows by the flickering flames of the fire pit.

The space
You'll be bedding down in one of our 5m bell tents. Each tent comes with a double bed with the option of two floor mattresses for extra guests. The tents have solar powered lighting and have enough power to charge a phone. Each tent has basic cooking facilities (e.g. a camp stove with access to utensils and pots) and its own fire pit. A kitchen cabin, composting toilets and shower units are located close by.

Located within Ireland’s largest Hen Harrier conservation area, it is a bolthole for the local deer as well as home to a myriad of native Irish species such as red squirrels, pine martens and hares. There are even some wild horses! Demoiselle damselflies and butterflies dance upon the wind while the thrill and coo of birdsong fills the air.

Where you’ll be

Flagmount, County Clare, Ireland

O'Meara's shop in Flagmount on the banks of Lough Graney is a 10 minute drive and is a great place to stock up on essentials.

We are a 20 minute drive from Feakle where, every summer, a renowned trad music festival takes place with live musicians filling the town. The pub there, Pepper's, is a excellent place to relax with a wee pint.

30 minutes away is the town of Mountshannon where the pizzeria, 'The Snug', does the best pizzas in East Clare.

Should you require a bigger town, Gort is also 30 minutes away and has several supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and pharmacies. The Field restaurant is a nice spot for dinner. While there, visit Coole Park! In the early 20th century it was the centre of the Irish Literary Revival and home to Lady Gregory, dramatist, folklorist & co-founder of the Abbey Theatre. Close by, is Thoor Ballylee, a fourteenth century Hiberno-Norman tower, and former home of the poet W.B. Yeats.

Irish Seed Savers Association in Scariff (30 minutes away) maintains the country’s public seed bank with over 600 non-commercially available varieties of seed and has 20 acres of beautiful gardens, heritage orchards and native woodland Trails.

The stunning landscape of the Burren is also an hour's drive away.

We are located by the East Clare Way, a 180-kilometre long circular walking route that begins and ends in Killaloe.

Returning to Ireland for a visit from a life overseas of corporate work structures and long hours, Mike & I began plotting how to turn our long-held vision of a idyllic eco-retreat into a reality. It was one of those spectacularly sunny days as we turned off the main road and began tootling along the bóithríns (little roads) into the heartland of East Clare. As we finally turned off onto what looked to be a dirt track, all expectations fell away and our minds began to soar. At the top of this little lane was an area of such unspoilt, untouched beauty that we were blown away. It was magical, it was perfect. Our dreams began to take solid form... Fast forward a couple of years since that day and still, every morning, I get that same feeling. Together with our baby daughter Willow, dogs Clouseau & Freya, & cat Mr. Francis, we are delighted to have the chance to share this beautiful space with you...where hopefully you can experience the same magic that has blessed us every day since.
