Head north in Norway and experience our tiny-hotel on a remote island. The Arctic Hideaway is an architecturally playful and stunning collection of 11 individual buildings, where fours are sleeping cabins. The shared areas are the iconic Tower House, kitchen house, studio building, bathhouse, crab trap and sauna. In limited periods, we will offer single cabins for rent on Airbnb. Included in the stay is all food (se details for concept) and daily use of the sauna.

The space
The Arctic Hideaway is an experience like few others. Our space is as much as a mindset as it is a physical location — a place to unplug and unwind. It is a place that will give you visual tranquillity. It is truly a transformative experience staying here. We have a minimum 2-night stay as we believe this will provide you with the best experience at our unique place. And most of our guest wish they could stay longer, so maybe book a week?

The Arctic Hideaway is nestled into Sørværet of the Fleinvær islands; these cabins provide guests with beautiful views of the Norwegian sea, nearby islands, birds, seals, sunrises and sunsets, the northern lights, the midnight sun and so much more. The architecture is designed to push you out into nature, which means that you move between the cabins for bathroom and kitchen usage. Look at the map for the location of your cabin in regards to the other buildings.

The whole compound can sleep up to 10 guests. And it is an ideal location for retreats and workshop, or maybe you want to rent the entire Hideaway by yourself? At this moment we only have availability during May here on Airbnb with four cabins with space for two people in each. If you are interested in visiting us at another time or arrange an event, please do send us an email and we will do our best to help you coordinate and epic experience at our facility.

It is said that only one person lives on the island, and any given day, this could be true. On the other hand, the island has several part-time or seasonal inhabitants who call the island home. That being said, there are no cafes on the island (except for Saturday Waffles at the public house), there are no supermarkets, nor are there bars or discos. There is no television or radio. Nature, instead, provides the only distraction. And, as you will see upon your arrival, in a place as remote as this, it can be quite the distraction!

If you want, we can lead you into a state of total relaxation. Tours can be made to neighbouring islands, fishing tours, bird watching, shell picking, rock climbing, even hiking to the most beautiful mountain top (990 m) in the area. We must know about your wishes as soon as possible to provide you with options, prices and reservations for any activities. But bringing a camera and a good book will also be a great option.

To sum it all up: Here on the island, there are no shops and no cars. Here there is no stress and no dangerous animals.

Welcome to the Arctic Hideaway, a very special cluster of tiny houses the arctic norwegian archipelago Fleinvær, outside city Bodø.
Our place is an architecturally playful and stunning collection of eleven individual buildings, where five are sleeping cabins. The shared areas are the iconic tower house , the kitchen house, the studio building, the bath house, the crab trap (a shelter for outdoor cooking) and the sauna. Periods for offering cabins for rent on Airbnb will vary, as we also have direct booking through email.
