Family home in an historic neighborhood on the edge of UVa Grounds. We are two (2) blocks from the UVa Rotunda and “The Corner” restaurants and shopping. And we are walking distance to John Paul Jones Arena & Scott Stadium. The nearby free shuttle provides easy access to Downtown Mall restaurants, shopping, movie theater, etc.

We have two friendly dogs and a fenced yard.

The space
2nd-floor private bedroom with one queen bed. Ceiling fan. Chest of drawers. Closet with hangers.

Private upstairs bathroom which includes an antique claw tub with a shower. Entrance to the bathroom is from the hallway. NOTE: Though we have multiple bedrooms available, only one room is booked at a time (unless a guest wants to book multiple rooms as part of a single booking).

Office that includes a desk, color printer, mini-fridge, Nespresso machine, electric tea kettle, reading chair, lamp, and ceiling fan.

Ultra-high speed internet connection (fiber optic 1,000 Mbps)

NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are following the CDC guidelines in terms of creating a healthy environment for all, including:
* Surfaces are cleaned and disinfected (using diluted bleach) multiple times daily, including all bathroom surfaces, doorknobs, stair railings, light switches, gate latches, snack table, etc.
* Personal hand towels are provided to each guest. Disposable paper towels are provided in the bathroom.
* Hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol is provided to all guests as you enter our house.
* Disposable tissues and trash cans with liners are in each guest room and bathroom.

While you are in common areas of the house (e.g. the entryway and upstairs hallway) we ask that you wear a mask and maintain a 6’ distance between people.

On the edge of UVa, our house is on a quaint tree-lined street with historic homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. Students live nearby, but our immediate neighbors are all single-family homes. It is common to see students and families walking and strolling on our street. While usually quiet, we are close enough to the University to sometimes hear the student celebrations on weekend evenings.

As a traveler, when I am looking for a place to stay, I like simplicity, beauty, ease, and relative quiet. Typically need wifi access, a comfortable bed, and a spot to prepare simple meals. I am a quiet guest and usually travel with a high level of spontaneity and autonomy in terms of activities. I eat healthy, though always like to try local foods.
