Maybe you saw this beautiful contemporary home close to both trails and the Town Square on Dwell's website or on coolhunting. It has wonderful outdoor decks and airy living spaces and is as close as you can get to feeling like you live in Jackson without actually living here.

The space
This house is awesome and great for a family vacation or a couple looking to try out Jackson for an extended time.

Our home is not a typical rental property. This is where we live full-time when we are not traveling, which we do for an extended period of time in the summer and less frequently in the winter (because who wants to miss ski season in Jackson Hole??) It is comfortable and has personality, including an art collection with pieces collected on our travels and generally nice stuff around. We want you to love this space as much as we do.

Since this past August we have worked out with the Town of Jackson what is legal as far as AirBnB is concerned and now only rent our house once every 30 days, so your stay here is completely legal.

Where you’ll be

Jackson, Wyoming, United States

East Jackson is a quintessential Jackson residential neighbrhood with a mix of faimly housing. There are other nice, new homes on the street, as well as, in summer, a horse corral and chuck wagon dinner (it's up the street so you we're upwind from it). Downtown is about a 25-minute walk. A trailhead with trails in the Bridger-Teton National Forest is a 7-minute walk.

After graduating from college I moved here for a year so I could learn how to ski. I picked Jackson over other ski towns because 1) I knew Harrison Ford lived here 2) I liked the idea of living in the least populated state in the country and 3) I knew if I could ski Jackson Hole, I could ski anywhere. I've now been here for 16 years. Jackson is the most amazing place and community in the world. Running into Harrison at Rendezvous Bistro doesn't even faze me anymore. I'm still learning how to ski.

I'm a travel and food writer and also editor of the best magazine about this valley. I used to host an interview show on Wyoming PBS. I've written countless articles about making the most of your visit to Jackson, whatever the season. If you stay with us (I live with my boyfriend Derek), I'll share as many (or as few) recommendations as you want. Even if you don't want any, I will tell you not to miss the free, guided snowshoe hikes with a Grand Teton National Park ranger in the winter (they even have antique snowshoes for you to use!). In summer, I'll make sure you know about The Deck at the top of the Bridger Gondola at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the valley's best margarita, delicious snacks, and stupefying views. The Sleeping Indian is my favorite summer hike. In winter, I backcountry ski and make way more cookies than I should. Derek is an expert on all things hiking, running, mountain biking, skiing at JHMR, and the most scenic driving routes to and from pretty much anywhere.

My favorite thing to do when traveling is to walk around and get as lost as possible, wandering into any local coffee shops (double espresso) or bakeries I pass along the way. If Starbucks is the only coffee around, I will refrain. But I won't judge you if you their over-roasted beans.

We live with one dog and one cat. The dog, Rio is a 13.5 year-old yellow lab that is The Greatest Dog Ever. And also the hungriest dog ever. He is super mellow and rarely leaves Derek's side. And then there's the cat: Kitty. She is doing her best to become a beached whale. She's also a big love bug. Neither of the animals are allowed in the guest room.

My guiding principle is that life is an adventure. My theme songs are 1) Eye of the Tiger (Survivor) and 2) Life is an Adventure (Violent Femmes).
