Stunning lakefront getaway perfect for families and those wanting to kick back and enjoy one of Alberta's most beautiful lakes. Our large but cozy home, with private access to the lake, includes 3 wood-burning fireplaces (one outdoor), three outdoor deck levels, hot tub and infrared sauna. The house has a well-outfitted great room that can be used as a second living room or dining room. Expansive yet cozy, our Sylvan home, with its outstanding views, is wonderful in all seasons!

The space
Amenities in our home include a gas stove/oven, an electric stove/oven, two double-sink kitchen sinks, a wet bar, two full-sized fridges, dishes and place settings for many, plus a washer/drier. The house works exceptionally well for a full group but was designed so that it's comfortable and intimate for a small family.

What to be Aware of:

While our house is comfortable for people of any age, those who are unstable on their feet (little children/elderly) need to be aware that are landings and spaces without railings that do present some hazard. We've raised a whack of children in this environment and never had a problem but this might be a concern for some.

The steps down to the beach are steep and the beach itself is very rocky and difficult to navigate. While you will have access to the beach, please be advised that you need to take all the personal precautions such an environment presents.

Importantly, we adore our neighbours and want to ensure that they continue to adore us. Please be mindful of making excessive noise – and please, no music outside after 11:00 PM.

Blissful beach is a unique stretch of cottages on Sylvan Lake. The land behind the 20 or so lake-front properties is undeveloped and agricultural so the beach offers a truly rural feel. Our home (two hours north of Calgary, two south of Edmonton) is about 15 minutes to the town of Sylvan, which has everything from a Walmart and Canadian Tire to micro-breweries, and it's about 10 minutes to Bentley - the model village of the west. Bentley is a sweet town with a weekly farmers' market, a few interesting shops (including a high-end bicycle store) and an annual rodeo in August.
