Come enjoy a luxurious, romantic and charming casita by the sea!
Enter through a private blue door and garden courtyard to French doors that lead into a beautifully appointed living space and fully equipped kitchenette. The bedroom with memory foam queen bed is dressed in luxurious linens and has a private bathroom en-suite. Then enjoy the roof top palapa crows nest with a queen size bed swing, perfect for naps after walking our own private beach, and panoramic view of the ocean sunsets ~

The space
The overall look and feel of the space would perhaps be considered “boho chic” as it is designed with an eclectic mix of authentic Moroccan, Mexican and fine European antique furnishings, original art, moroccan and Turkish rugs and fine textiles and linens. The interior of the guest casita, in total, is a three room space with a private courtyard entry BLUE door that opens into a spacious garden courtyard featuring a spanish tile “wishing” fountain, fragrant blooming florals and a sweeping tree adorned with a collection of cathedral wind chimes; a space perfect for dining and private massages.

Once you pass through the garden you’ll see a pair of tall French doors that lead into the living room area. The blue door entrance and the French doors are well lit for your safety and ability to see at night as it gets quite dark here. Also in the courtyard you’ll have private access to lit stairs that lead up to a rooftop palapa with cafe lights, a pair of bar stools to watch the sunset and a custom queen size swing for two with an outdoor mattress perfect for afternoon naps after strolling miles of our own wet beach, wine tasting in the Valle de Guadalupe or local treasure shopping. Feel free to bring up a bottle of wine and a pair of provided plastic wine glasses and throw blankets to relax and watch the amazing colorful sunsets over the ocean.

The living room and kitchenette ~
The living room has been decorated with an authentic Moroccan Beni Ourain shag rug, extra long antique sofa settee with a thick feather down seat cushion that a third person or child could sleep on comfortably and luxurious decorative pillows and throw. A gorgeous hand painted antique trunk sits in the window area dated 1845 from Austria next to a beautiful carved wood with velvet bergere chair and expandable coffee table to dine while sitting on Moroccan leather floor poufs listening to Spanish guitar on your own Alexa. The new kitchenette is equipped with a brand new microwave and mini fridge with freezer. The floating shelves and builtins serve as ample storage for dishes, glass stemware, flatware, paper and linen napkins (cuz we fancy!), coffee mugs with saucers to use as coasters, coffee maker, electric tea kettle and a wine rack. The counters and backsplash have been tiled with local talavera tile to compliment the customized King Neptune fountain face with copper faucet spout and vintage pinwheel handles positioned over a stainless steel sink. As a courtesy you’ll also find the kitchenette often stocked with jars of dry cereal, packets of oatmeal, packaged cookies, trail mix bars, gourmet teas and coffee, coffee creamer, sugar, honey, olive oil, salt & pepper grinders, hot sauces, microwave popcorn, hot chocolate, etc.. you’ll also find cold bottles of authentic Mexican coke or bottled water in the fridge and a tray of bottled water ice cubes in the freezer. Please be sure to turn ALL lights, appliances and electronic devices off when not in use.

The master bedroom and 3 piece en-suite bathroom ~
The romantic and luxuriously appointed bedroom has a brand new queen size memory foam mattress dressed with high-quality down-feather bed pillows and super soft high thread count sheets and Matelasse quilt coverlet. During the colder months the foot of the bed has a fluffy blanket and woven throw blanket. During the hotter months the bed is dressed with layers of lighter antique kantha quilt blankets from India. ALL bed linens and blankets are always freshly laundered after every guest. The bed is flanked by a pair of end tables with deep storage drawers, handmade ceramic table lamps, a clock, a scented candle and a bud vase with fresh flowers from the garden. You’ll find felt hangers for hanging your clothing and 8 deep builtin drawers for your extra storage needs in the closet along with a table top fan, extra blankets for the bed ONLY and a shawl wrap to use during your stay for those chilly coastal evenings. This room also has a Samsung tv on the wall with directv upgraded channels, music and many prerecorded movies on the DVR for your entertainment (remote is inside the gilded gold box on the nightstand) and a ceiling fan. Please be sure to turn ALL lights, appliances and electronic devices off when not in use.

The three piece en-suite bathroom ~
The bathroom has a toilet, shower and a large vanity with sink (no need to remove the handful of shells in the sink) and lots of counter space and storage with extra bath towels, 2 beach towels, 2 bottled waters, extra rolls of toilet paper, a blow dryer, some first aid and sun and mosquito essentials. There is ample room to store your own toiletries.

As a new amenity addition to the guest casita I have added a pair of new travel yoga mats to use on the sea wall platforms along the oceanfront cliffs of our wet beach. Please rinse and sanitize the mats after every use with the provided exterior hose and spray cleaner / sanitizer located in the drawer under the kitchen sink.

I have also recently installed a pair of new ceramic wall heaters in both the bedroom and living room. These heaters are very efficient with taking the chill out of the room. They do not blow hot air. Please only use when necessary and turn off when not in use and or not in the room.

It’s super important to understand that Mexico has a weak infrastructure in comparison to the US. Electricity rates are much higher in Mexico than in the US and the government can turn off our electricity without notice for using too much energy. Please respect and do your part to conserve energy by turning all lights, fans and heaters off when not in the space along with keeping counter appliances unplugged when not in use so we all can live comfortably and keep costs reasonable.

Puerto Nuevo / southern Rosarito is known for serving generations of authentically prepared lobster from our coast. The Dunes, Primo Tapia, La Fonda and La Mision are only minutes south of us along with the wine region of the Valle de Guadalupe and Ensenada being a quick 20 to 30 minutes further south. There are countless things to do and see! I can also arrange for anything special you may desire such as couples massages, wine & tequila tasting, candlelit gourmet dinners, a Sunday brunch, champagne, cake, flowers, yoga, etc.. all in the privacy of the courtyard garden. I can also assist with providing recommendations for restaurants, wine tours and horseback riding.

I’d be absolutely delighted to assist with making your stay as memorable as possible ~

Where you’ll be

Puerto Nuevo, Baja California, Mexico

We are located in Puerto Nuevo which is about 40 minutes south of the San Yisdro border in-between Rosarito and Primo Tapia. Puerto Nuevo is a small fishing village known for its grilled Mexican lobster. The lobster village is a very short walk on the beach during low tide. Otherwise you will need your car or a taxi for transportation. Ensenada is a beautiful scenic 20 minute drive south of Puerto Nuevo and the Valle de Guadalupe wine region is only about 20 minutes inland of La Mision and La Fonda. If you like desert activities the dunes are less than 5 minutes south.
