Cozy room in the heart of the old town, with its medieval buildings, restaurants and cafés. Close to the bus stop and river Aare.
I live in the apartment and rent out one room. There is also a small dining room with open kitchen and small bathroom. It is an old, un-renovated but charming apartment. Best suited for short stays for single travelers or a couple.

The space
The Space

The room has a comfortable double bed (140 x 200) and a hanger for clothes, as well as space for your clothes on a shelf.
The kitchen and bathroom are small and basic (not recently renovated, old windows and radiators etc.).
There is coffee and tea available for free (kettle in room and Nespresso machine in kitchen). Free Wifi, sheets and one large and one small towel per person are included.
The room has attractive views of the old-town rooftops in a convenient location.

Where you’ll be

Bern, Switzerland

The apartment is located just 1 minute walk from the Aare and 5 mins from the bear park, which is on the other side of the river. The river is great to swim or boat in summer and the beautiful old town can be explored on foot right at your doorstep. I recommend a visit to the Rosegarden, about 15mins from the apartment (up the hill on the other side of the river).

During your stay

Interaction with Guests

I live in this apartment but am often out days and some evenings.
I am happy to welcome you and give you practical information and suggestions of what to see, or where to go out or eat in Bern. There will be tourist guides and transport maps in the room as well.

At check-In, I usually arrange to meet you at the bus stop or straight at the apartment, depending on what you prefer. If you need picking up at the train station, I can sometimes do that - whatever the arrangement, just let me know the rough time and your preference a few days before you arrive.

If I'm at home, I will be working or in my own room, and probably not spending much time with you, but will be available if you have any questions or problems, and am always happy to help!

When I travel, I like my own space and independence, so this is what I try to provide for guests - but if you would like to spend more time with me, let me know, I am open to this (depending on my work schedule).
