Our Airbnb was featured on the front page of the Home section of the local newspaper in 2015 and also in Trine University's (Angola, IN) Alumni publication in 2016. Our home is on a quiet cul-de-sac street. Improvements such as all new carpet and flooring, furniture, kitchen appliances, hall bathroom remodel & extensive landscaping were made over the 10+ years we have lived here. My wife & I were Airbnb Superhosts from 2013-2016 & 2019-2020 (unlisted due to the pandemic) & re-listed in May 2022.

The space
The Loft area is 10'-10" x 16'-7". There is a queen size bed, sofa loveseat, large table and chair, 43" Smart 4K UHD - Fire TV (purchased in 2021) and a leather foot stool to relax your feet if you desire. The large table and chair make a nice workstation for your laptop. Wi-fi is very fast and has been measured at 157 Mbps - verified by Airbnb. The guest will have exclusive use of the hall bathroom, access to the living room, kitchen/dining room (Keurig coffee machine, refrigerator, microwave & air fryer for toast) and the backyard patio. No major meal preparation is allowed. My wife & I will spend most of the time (except for dinner around 5:00-6:30 pm) at the far end of the house (den and master bedroom) which will be closed off from the guest by a thick privacy curtain. The door to the den will also be closed most of the time providing additional privacy and quiet for our guest.

Where you’ll be

Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States

Please see the photo of a map that shows the restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores near our home. We are a 10–15-minute easy drive to the following: Allen County Memorial Coliseum, Glenbrook Square Mall, indoor ice-skating rinks, Fort Wayne Zoo, Costco, Parkview Regional Medical Center and Dupont Hospital (making it a safe and ideal accommodation for traveling nurses to either Hospital) etc. We are about 8 miles from downtown - a short 20-minute drive. The very popular, asphalt paved Pufferbelly Trail (walking, running and biking) runs along the East boundary of our subdivision. We have a men's or women's bike that our Guest can use on this trail or throughout our subdivision for free.

My wife Anne and I were Airbnb Superhosts from 2013-2016 and 2019-2020. We were unlisted from June 2020 to May 2022 because of the pandemic. We have hosted many Business people and travelers through Airbnb from the US, Canada, Mexico and China. We have traveled extensively - 42 States, Canada, 2 Cruises & bring this experience to Airbnb.

We have been married for over 43 years and enjoy helping and serving others which is the main reason we are Hosts with Airbnb. We sponsored several children for many years through World Vision and Love a Child in Haiti, South America and Africa as they assist children suffering from poverty and injustice. We currently are volunteers serving lunch on occasion to the homeless at the Rescue Mission in Fort Wayne.

During your stay

During the evening, when a guest is staying in our home, my wife and I will be spending very little time in the living room, kitchen and dining room. We have supper typically from 5:00-6:30 pm and will be in the kitchen/dining room during that time. Other than supper, we will be in the den and master bedroom/bathroom, at the opposite end of the house from the loft area, to give our guest privacy. We have traveled extensively and know that at the end of the day, many people just want to get to their accommodation and chill and not be bothered. The last thing we want someone to think is, oh no, we have to be cordial and talk 10 or 15 minutes with the host when we are tired.

However, if the guest wants to visit some, we are more than happy to do so and have done so with many of our guests. One guest, Reisha, a contract nurse, wanted to see the downtown and we happily obliged her. We are here to serve our guests and please them and their wishes and desires come first.
