Escape noise & stress & enjoy quiet beautiful desert views

The space
We call it the Coyote Casita, and it is a quiet secluded space. The location is somewhat isolated. It’s 5 miles from town. It could be a writer’s retreat, or anyone’s retreat.

The Coyote Casita is a original homestead cabin on our property, and is separate to our own home. It was built in the 1950s, and updated in the 1970s. Like the casita itself, it’s furnishings are not modern. It’s a little like going back in time. It’s not a place for people who need sleek and modern surroundings. It is a place for those who appreciate simple, basic and affordable accommodations.

The Coyote Casita is a simple older cabin. It’s not fancy. Staying at the casita is similar to camping in the desert, yet with the conveniences of being indoors, sleeping on a bed , and having running water and heat in the wintertime and a/c in the summer. What the Coyote Casita lacks in perfection, is made up by its low cost, and also by the views of the surrounding desert, which are astoundingly beautiful.

You can build a bonfire in the fire pit outside on the casita’s private patio. The coyote casita is a historic homestead cabin (approximately 400 sq ft). It doesn’t have a bedroom, yet it has 2 beds (queen & twin) in the living room.

Bring your food with you and have a bbq on the patio, or make your own meals in the complete kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. There is also cookware, a set of knives and a cutting board. Basic spices and olive oil are also provided.

Hosts have recently invested in a new internet system and it has improved the WiFi situation quite a bit. Verizon phone service works well in our area, and it’s been reported to the host that there are other phone services that work well, but not all. The casita has easy access off a paved road.

The Coyote Casita is an inexpensive simple tiny house in the desert, with no cleaning or security fees attached to your cost. Host does her own cleaning. If you like simplicity, you’ll probably like the Coyote Casita. Come relax in it’s quiet simplicity and enjoy our expansive desert views, and dark star-filled nights.

Only 5 minutes to the city of Twentynine Palms, CA, which has numerous restaurants, a large supermarket and 29 palms also host a casino.

I’m a retired Family Advocate, and my husband continues to work at the 29 palms marine base. We bought our property in April of 2019 and because it had the separate homestead cabin or “casita”, we decided to try our hand at renting it out on AirBnB. We love the area very much and hope others will too.
