In a secluded spot in the garden, The Wendy House is 2 blocks from all the restaurants, bars and shops that Melville is famous for.

"Alexa," your in-room host, will turn the lights on and off, play music, and entertain you.

The space
The Wendy House is all you need for a perfect night or two in Johannesburg. Insulated from the elements, cool in summer, with a wall mounted panel heater and a heated blanket on the bed, it's warm and cozy in winter.

I offer a queen size bed, with luxury linen, ensuite shower room with complimentary toiletries, free tea and real ground coffee, as well as free, blazing fast and unlimited fibre wifi.

And of course, Amazon Echo Dot, "Alexa," to keep you informed and entertained. She'll even turn the lights on and off for you.

Laundry facilities charged at the following extra prices:

R50 per load for access to washing machine, dryer and iron for do it yourself.
R100 per load to be washed, dried and folded for you.
R150 per load to be washed, dried, ironed and folded for you.

In room massage offered for an extra charge by a local massage therapist, Zama Cele of Paradise Beauty Spa. Best to book before you come, but you can try on the night if she's available. Her last appointments are 10PM for the massage to end at 11PM. I can add her charge to your AirBnb bill if you don't have cash on you. Ask me for her contact details.

Ranked by Time Out amongst the 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world, Melville is both a bohemian as well as trendy village with many great restaurants, bars and shops. The area is popular among journalists, humanitarian workers, academics, artists, writers and students.

It's ideally located for visiting other nearby tourist attractions such as Gold Reef City, Constitution Hill, Newtown, Maboneneg and Rosebank. It's a stones throw from WITS and UJ Universities and close to Helen Joseph and Charlotte Maxeke hospitals.

Situated 30 minutes from OR Tambo International airport it's the perfect place for a 1 or 2 night layover.
