Flying Cloud Ranch is a working homestead ranch, surrounded by the Beaverhead-Deer Lodge National Forest. Staying at the ranch is an immersive wilderness experience. wildlife, water, & endless trails beckon directly outside your door. We offer multiple cabins for rent; Game Cabin, Bear Cabin, Chick's Cabin, & Octagon Dome Cabin.

Onsite full-time ranch hands are amazing, live on-site in another home on the property, and will be there to greet you and get you settled upon arrival!

The space
Accommodations-
This listing is for "Game Cabin", the largest cabin on our historic homestead ranch. With its roomy screen porch, generously-sized kitchen, and abundance of games, it is the hub of any family vacation on the ranch. This historic nineteen-fifties log cabin was fully remodeled in spring two thousand nineteen) to include five bedrooms sleeping 14 with two modern tiled bathrooms. The entertaining area offers; Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, Foosball Table, and Poker Table. There a vintage jukebox and a great living, dining, and kitchen area. This entire cabin is part of your reservation and is not shared with anyone else at the ranch- it will be your groups private space.

It sleeps a group of 14 (or more if more than one person sleeps in a twin).

There are 5 bedrooms; Bedroom #1- KING TIMBER BED plus twin timber bunk bed! A new bathroom adjacent to bedrooms #1 & #2 has a shower and deep tub. Bedroom #2- (2) TIMBER QUEEN BEDS in bedroom #2.

Off the kitchen you will find a newly remodeled bathroom at the start of the hall and there are 3 more bedrooms just beyond it: Bedroom #3- TIMBER TWIN bunk beds, Bedroom #4- KING Bed with a window that you can open and hear the sounds of the river/stream that is 10 feet away or so. Bedroom #5 two twin beds and also a window you can open to hear the sounds of the stream plus a window that looks up into the mountains and pasture!

The Kitchen has everything your group will need to prepare meals throughout your stay. There is a small market in Wise River for staple grocery items, a 20 minute drive away.

The oven stopped working and it is a high end Italian oven/stove. The owner has ordered a new one and it’s not expected to arrive until the beginning of May. In the meantime the stove top works and we have an outside grill you can use in addition to the small appliances such as a microwave and a toaster. Please be aware of this when you are booking.

The living room area is a perfect place to cozy up with a book as you look out the window into the pasture and towering mountains around. Keep your eye open for Elk, Bears, Moose, and more. This is their home and you will likely see one or more of these at Flying Cloud Ranch!

When you come to Flying Cloud Ranch, we hope your goal is to disconnect from technology so you can reconnect with loved ones, but we do offer wifi capable enough to do the most important things such as email or socal media . Please don't expect to stream anything though, the wifi is basic. We all use WIFI calling here rather than cellular calls due to the remoteness of the Ranch.

NO DOGS ALLOWED, PLEASE LEAVE THEM AT HOME/BOARDING. THE OWERS HAVE A BAD DANDER ALLERGY PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THIS WHEN CHOOSING WHERE YOU WILL STAY/MAKIng ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOUR ANIMALS

You will have access to the grounds of the Ranch and can enjoy some amazing activities.

Staying at the ranch is an immersive wilderness experience: wildlife, water, and endless trails beckon directly outside your door. The accommodations are original dude ranch log cabins built in the 1940s, and while they have been updated, they retain a rustic character. Propane grills are available, as well as a fire pit with cast iron dutch oven cookware, or there are two restaurants & a grocery store in Wise River, 8 miles away. The ranch is situated at 6500 feet elevation, and while days can be hot, summer nights are cool, so do bring appropriate clothing and sunscreen. This is a working ranch, there will be animals on site (dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cattle). Guests are not allowed in areas where horses and cattle are corralled (unless renting the corrals).
