Our wall tent offers a sweet retreat in the woods about 10 miles outside of Bayfield. We are located on a small working organic farm with vegetable and perennial gardens, apple trees, and rustic accommodations. We are located near Lake Superior and are about 6 miles from Meyers Beach in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Our property is located on 40 acres and has a distant, but beautiful view of Lake Superior. We are on the edge of thousands of acres of county land. The perfect escape!

The space
A Few Notes:

Electricity: There is no electricity. We suggest bringing a headlamp or flashlight. We do have solar twinkle lights on the outside of the tent to guide your way if you arrive after dark.

Bathrooms: We have an outhouse, so expect to venture out of the tent to use the restroom. The porta potty is down by the parking area, so plan to use the restroom before heading up to the tent. If you are at all concerned about the distance, the wall tent may not be the right fit for you as we are offering a unique and rustic experience. There is no shower onsite. Due to COVID 19, we cannot guarantee the availability/hours for public showers, please plan accordingly.

Communication: There is no WIFI or cell phone service. If you are looking to unplug, this is the perfect place for you! For emergencies there is a phone inside the yurt that can be used.

Heat: There is a woodstove inside the tent for your use. We DO provide firewood for indoor fires, but prefer you buy some locally for the outdoor fire ring. Most gas stations have some available for purchase locally.

Pets: No Pets allowed! Period...

Smoking: No Smoking INSIDE the tent. Feel free to smoke outside, but dispose of your butts safely.

Bedding: We have one queen bed in the tent. Linens are provided including towels. Daily housekeeping is not provided.

Capacity: We can accommodate 2 guests. If you have a larger group, inquire about renting the yurt or geodesic dome. They are both located on the property as well and available to book via Airbnb.

Cooking: There is no kitchen onsite, but we do have a fire ring with cooking grate. Please leave your food in your vehicle, if the tent is unattended. There are black bears around and we don't want them to eat your dinner. No candles or open flames in the tent.

Bugs: We are not a resort or hotel. We don’t spray for bugs. We promote biodiversity and with this comes mosquitoes, ticks and wasps. We cannot guarantee you won’t encounter them on your stay. If this is a concern for you, our rentals may not be the right fit for you..

Water: We provide a 5 gallon jug of water. If you need more, the nearest artesian well is in Cornucopia, WI.

Garbage: We are a leave no trace operation. Please pack in and pack out your goods.

Hike in: There is an uphill hike from the parking area. The path is rustic and approx 350 ft and may be difficult if you are not expecting it. Please plan accordingly and wear appropriate foot wear.

Check In- Plan for self check in. We can be reached via text or call if you have any needs during your stay.

Yurt/Dome Rentals-There is a yurt and dome onsite available to rent as well. You may see guests from the yurt, but we have a 40 acres property and there is plenty of privacy. Please park in designated areas, so as not to block the driveway for other guests.

I know we live in the woods, but please respect our wishes.. No firearms. No fireworks. No hunting.

COVID 19- We are taking extra precautions with cleaning and sanitizing in between guests. Your health and safety is very important to us. If you are experiencing any symptoms, we ask that you re-schedule your trip to the farm and we will offer a refund. We ask that you try to bring everything you need with you, as not all local businesses have re-opened. Many restaurants are doing take out only. If you do need to shop locally, please follow CDC recommendations for social distancing and wearing masks. Thanks for your support in keeping our community safe and healthy.

I am a hospice nurse in the area, but we also own and operate a small diversified organic vegetable farm nestled on 40 acres near Bayfield, WI. The farm was part of an old homestead and has hundreds of wild apple trees that my husband takes great joy in turning into cider. We are dreaming of starting a community cider house and putting these apples to good use. We are passionate about local food and and want to share our farm with you. We have 2 boys and are busy with keeping them out of trouble. We love to be outdoors and have explored all the amazing hikes, swimming spots and magical forest nooks our community has to offer!
