The space
The cabin is located in nice surroundings about 850 m above sea level. The cottage is located on Gammsukkja. Take the E6 at Islands and head for the Nermo hotel. Then take Hornsjøeggen uphill towards old Hornsjø high mountain hotel. This is a bomb road and you pay 50 kroner to use the road up. See youpark.no for more information.
It is 4 minutes by car to Moseteråsen where you can take on your ski and drive straight into Hafjell alpine resort. The cabin is wonderfully located for anyone who loves cross-country skiing. Newly prepared cross-country trails start 100 m from the cabin. If you want to meet people, head for Pellestova, which is 7 km south of the cabin. If you want a cross-country ski trip without hitting a lot of people, head north. This is one of Norway's best running nets and is perfect for all ages. There are 600 km of cross-country trails that are connected with Sjusjøen, Nordseter, Lillehammer, Fåvang and Ringebufjellet. It's only 10 minutes drive from the cabin and down to the bottom station where there are good parking conditions. Or you can drive to Moseteråsen which is only 4 minutes away (Note! Few parking spaces, only for drop-off). The Hafjell alpine facility is one of Norway's largest and most versatile alpine facilities and contains 30 slopes and a total of 16 ski lifts and gondola. There are a total of 40 km of slopes, the longest of which is 7.5 km.
In the summer, Hafjell Bike Park is one of Norway's best downhill facilities where you can rent bicycles and equipment as needed. There are also great bike paths and trails inwards into the mountains of Øyer. Lilliputian hammer is located in the centre of Øyer. A perfect little amusement park for small and medium children. Across the river is Hunderfossen with its great attractions and large park areas. The Road Museum is also located here, worth a visit all year round! A climbing park and visitor farm are also nearby. For those interested in golf, there is also Hafjell Golf, which is located at the Nermo Hotel. Lillehammer is only 20-25 minutes away by car, so it is a short way from the mountains to the city. Øyer/Hafjell center has everything else you need for short and longer stays. Also, there is a swimming area in Fåberg "Jorekstad" which is perfect for families with children.
