This beautiful abode perched high on a hillside ensures seclusion and privacy while taking in the majestic views of Lake Wanaka and surrounding mountains. It offers a unique and comfortable open-plan living space, with mezzanine bedrooms, and large windows that let the light and view pour in. Well-equiped kitchenette set-up, great bathroom, and an outside hot tub perfect for star gazing and enjoyment. Only 7 minutes drive from Wanaka.

The space
Sunset Chalet allows for a unique holiday experience. The space comfortably fits a family, is perfect for a couple, and can take up to 5 guests. The open plan living space includes a master queen bed positioned to take in the mountains, and two beautiful loft style mezzanine bedrooms situated above, each with a double bed. These are accessed via a ladder and separated by a passageway, and are ope to the living space below.

There is a well equipped kitchenette, including, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and hotplate; a comfortable lounge with a retractable smart tv, connected to Netflix and the internet; full wireless internet access; dining table; bathroom; and storage room.

There is a laundry shed available for guests to do washing. It is a simple set-up, with a washer and a dryers, and is shared by the other guests and the chalet cleaners. Follow the signage to find it.

Sunset Chalet is surrounded by native bush, and placed at the top of our property, ensuring your stay feels private and elevated- away from the hustle and bustle of town. The large hardwood deck leads to a private two-person hot tub that over-looks the views and takes in the stars at night-time.

Sunset Chalet is placed at the top of a large hillside section, only 7 minutes drive from the Wanaka town centre. The surrounding neighbourhood is friendly and welcoming, and our property is surrounded by other large sections, ensuring privacy. You can access many walking tracks and bike tracks close to the chalet, and we will be happy to point out where they are if you enquire. Just let us know!

I live on this property with my daughter and my two friends Hugh and Tim. Together we built Little Mountain and Sunset Chalets and are proud of what we have created. Especially after we had to lug everything up the hill! I also manage the chalets as well as care for the property.

I have lived in the Wanaka area for over 15 years, and am also involved with organising events. I lead an active lifestyle, keen rock climber, skier and runner. I am also passionate about Acroyoga and run a weekly class, ask me about it!

As a host my focus is to ensure you have a private, relaxing and unique experience while staying at either of our luxurious Chalet's. My extensive time living in Wanaka means I have a lot of local knowledge to share and can recommend the best places to eat and drink in town, as well as outdoor adventures.
