Our home in Rocky offers the perfect stopping point for your adventures in the west country. Retired from Fish & Wildlife with many years of experience in the area, and active in the outdoors, Rocky offers good advice for your visit to the area.

The space
The bright bedroom offers the comfort of a queen size bed, luggage rack, fridge, microwave, kettle and keurig. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cream and sweeteners are provided, plus bottled water. The room has a closet with hangers, and space for folded items. The adjacent living room with cable TV is for your sole use. A wall-mounted fold-up table and chairs are available for eating, or as a laptop work space. Free WiFi is included. The sparkling European style private bathroom boasts a luxurious rain shower head, plump towels as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Although the main entrance is used by us as well, it is on the same level as the guest room so there's no need to worry about interfering with our living area. There is a twin-sized trundle bed in the sewing room on the same level that could accommodate a third person, and even a fourth person (minor children only) for an additional fee. Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada

Rocky Mountain House (pop 7000) is located about a 1 hour drive west of Red Deer, Alberta. Our home is just a 5 min drive from all of the town services (grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants etc.) The area to the west of town is known as David Thompson Country, which offers a variety of adventures including hiking, biking, fishing, birding, photography and touring. The picturesque Ram Falls is located about a 1 hour drive west, and the scenic David Thompson corridor can be enjoyed by driving just over an hour from Rocky. Great picnic-ing and fishing can be found at a number of locations within a short drive of Rocky. The well-respected Pine Hills golf course is only 10 minutes away.

We are a retired couple from Alberta, Canada who appreciate travelling and meeting people. Rocky had a 40-year career with Fish & Wildlife management, and spends a lot of time outdoors. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom who home-schooled our two daughters. The girls are now married and have blessed us with 10 beautiful grandchildren with whom we spend a lot of time. We have travelled extensively and really appreciate different cultures and out-of-the-way places. We always look forward to meeting people and comparing notes about life in general.

We are happy to provide directions, tips, or advice on the numerous outdoor pursuits our area has to offer. Whether you're headed out west to hike, fish, or photograph some of the beautiful landscapes of the area, we can offer suggestions. Or if you just want to know where the best coffee or restaurant in town is located, we're happy to help.
