Welcome to our 1950 bungalow, nestled on a beautiful one acre property filled with trees. Enjoy the heart of Indiana farmland in a natural setting, yet 5 minutes from downtown. The guest suite is in the front half of the home. A king and 2 twin bedrooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay with a private bathroom perfectly located right near your room. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea right in your room!

The space
My dog, Inori, loves people and will greet you with lots of love and energy. She is a red miniature F1B goldendoodle very sweet and very quiet, under 10lbs and one of the most hypoallergenic dogs out there. And she recently became a new mother of 3 adorable puppies born the winter of 2019.

Our nice larger room features a king bed beautifully decorated with quality bedding and linen touches! There are plenty of pillows for a good night's sleep to fit your preference from soft to full and fluffy! The closet has plenty of hangers and a luggage rack for easy access to your suitcase and clothes. In the closet you can also find a mini fridge, sound machine, space heater, fan, and extra blankets. You will also arrive to find fresh towels in the private bathroom along with light breakfast snacks and bottled water in your room. If you want to find good eats, nearby hikes, shopping or just to explore our town, the labeled clipboards in the bedroom's entry are filled with compiled information, maps, and takeout menus from some local favorites! We also lend out our annual pass to the local park. Whether you are just stopping through or staying a little longer, we go the extra mile to make sure you have a comfortable stay while you are here!
And our second room features two twins (can be converted to a king on request) also finished with quality bedding! There are plenty of pillows for a good night's sleep to fit your preference available in its closet.

2 minutes drive West is our YMCA, a locals favorite. Oubache State Park is a great place to take a hike as well especially if you visit in the fall. A short 30 minute drive East will put you smack dab in the middle of Amish country.

I author the One Green Bicycle website which is all about Japan Travels and Culture along with tips for simple living. One big part of my life is helping people connect into the Japanese culture through actionable ideas, travels, and being intentional. I love being able to help people going to Japan with their travel questions and itineraries. So I use One Green Bicycle as a tool for education and connecting cultures together travel. I will also soon be coming out with a few OGB courses for pretravel planning, so tourists can travel in Japan NOT feeling and acting like a tourist. And for travelers in Japan to be able to use their short amount of time to the fullest by being prepared.

I love renting from locals because they deserve income more than my other option of extended stay hotels which is why I love Airbnb. On top of that, I get to enjoy hosts' creativity with treehouses, geodesic domes, and yurts.
I love to try new things wherever I am. I learned scuba diving while I was in Florida, needle felting in colorado, and am always piqued to learn more. I love any water activities and am adventurous when it comes to getting up close and personal with animals. I have traveled quite a bit and always tend to enjoy the local cuisine wherever I am.

As a guest: I hope I'd be a good fit for you too: a clean and quiet guest, interested in learning about local life and culture, sharing in responsibility to keep things clean, etc.

Silly bits about me: I love whales but have never seen one close up. I hope to someday take the Oriental Express and Transiberian Railway. I love to raise plants but they often die for some reason. Red wine. Dogs over cats. Learning Japanese to visit friends and some churches.
