Spacious studio apartment in private, safe and secure setting. Self-contained, fully equipped. Starter breakfast provisions provided. Peaceful, comfortable, private, part of a traditional Georgian-style big house. Walking distance to train, Lower Hut markets, Station Village, river and Jubilee Park. Perfect for a couple or single person. An advanatage if you have your own vehicle. Safe parking. Easy drive to ferry, Lower Hutt, Wellington and Wairarapa.

The space
You have your own private entrance, separate from the main house. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen which has everything two people need to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay. Cook, eat, drink, repose, relax, read, chat, laugh and entertain, in between visiting the sights of Wellington and Wairarapa, and going to concerts.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, toaster, electric jug, dual cooktop (no oven) and clothes washing machine. You'll have wine and champagne glasses, plenty of cutlery and crockery, platters, pots, pans and dishes for the microwave.
There is a 42 inch plasma TV connected to FreeView, a DVD player and selection of movies; and WiFi for the Internet.

There is a king-sized bed, a small dressing room, two easy chairs by the TV, and a dining table where you can eat and also work on your laptop. The bathroom has a large vanity, the shower is over a full-sized bath and you have a separate toilet. The apartment has Infinity gas for hot water so you won't ever get a cold shower.

Where you’ll be

Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand

Outdoors, the terrace attached to this apartment is a wonderful place to have breakfast, or sit and while away the evening in the sun. You get your own parking space just outside the apartment. St Johns Way is a private lane and very safe.

We are on a hill on nearly an acre of native New Zealand bush overlooking the Hutt Valley, Orongorongo hills, Wellington Harbour, the Hutt River, and Lower Hutt city. We have our own tennis court that you are free to use. Our garden can get a bit wild but you can wander around it.

The apartment is close to everything around Wellington. Locally, you can walk the Hutt riverbank, do a bush walk in Jubilee Park, visit the swimming pool, have a picnic in the Riddiford Gardens, go to the Dowse Art Museum ,check out the local cafes, or bike the trails. There is a tantalising range of activities to do around the Hutt Valley. You can drive or bus to Petone Beach, Eastbourne Beach, and take a ferry ride over to Matiu-Somes Island in Wellington harbour to see wildlife and beautiful views.

Wellington City is just 12 minutes away by car. Parking is easy at the weekend. You can visit Te Papa, the markets, go up Mt Victoria, relax on the beach at Oriental Bay, take a ride on the Cable Car, visit the Botanic Gardens, Katherine Mansfield House, try the local breweries, see wildlife at Zealandia, take a walk around Otari Plant Museum, and visit Weta Cave (props from Lord of the Rings and other movies made locally). Wellingtonians are foodies - so naturally the food, coffee and craft beers here are amazing.

If you want to go across Cook Strait to the South Island, the ferries are only 15 minutes along the motorway (takes longer during rush-hour). The fabulous Wairarapa region is only an hour away, over the Rimutaka Hill.

The apartment is private, secluded, safe, with views, very comfortable but with character, and in a lovely neighbourhood. There's a fabulous outdoor sunny terrace, great for relaxing and listening to the birds. It's handy to bush walks, shopping, river, beaches, Queensgate Shopping Mall, and Wellington city.
