The Cottage at Cloudy Mountain Pottery is a tiny house in a wooded setting near the Canadian border, in Maple Falls, WA. My home and gardens are on the property, as well as another small rental with long term tenants. I also have a working pottery studio on the site, and you will usually find me there throwing pots on my potter’s wheel. There is mountain biking and hiking right out the door and swimming, picnicking or fishing at nearby Silver Lake Park, 4 miles away.

The space
The Cottage is a cozy space with a nook style bed featuring a brand new queen size mattress. The new settee easily pulls out into a double bed. The small kitchen has a fridge, a two burner cook top, and everything you need to prepare meals. The Cottage is stocked with complimentary homemade granola, coffee/tea, milk and fruit.

Main living area is sunny and bright during the day, romantic and relaxing at night. Great ambiance is enhanced by lovely gas fireplace.

Nearby logging roads make taking a walk from the Cottage easy, or bring your mountain bike and discover the remote trails. My working pottery is on the property and you are welcome to peek in or peruse my functional ware in the tiny Pumphouse Gallery.

The setting here is very peaceful. The night sky is amazing for stargazing when it’s clear, and you are likely to hear the owls and coyotes as you doze off.

We are about 11 miles from the Canadian border crossing at Sumas, and 33 miles to Mt Baker Ski Area/ Artist Point. The village of Maple Falls is 7 miles away and hosts a great little grocery store, gas station and laundromat, a couple of small restaurants and the Mt. Baker Visitors Center for more info about the area.
Please be assured I am using high quality cleaning products and best practices between guests. I adhere to Air BnB's enhanced cleaning protocol, to make your stay as safe and comfortable as possible. The Cottage is a wonderful choice for anyone needing a break or rest retreat during this difficult time. If you are unwell please take good care and seek alternate accommodations. I am grateful for my guests, and your interest- we truly are all in this together.
The village of Glacier is 15 miles east on Mt. Baker Highway. There are several restaurants there as well, and just past it you will enter the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, with abundant hiking and exploring for people of all abilities..
