The cosy round house has one bedroom with a 140cm double bed, shelf and chair, and a small ensuite bathroom with sink, toilet and a (cold) shower. There is electricity and solar energy. It is part of a larger fenced and locked compound with a permanent watchman who can assist you with any queries or needs you may have. There's a lovely outside fire place and hammock. The local village is a 5 minutes walk, a beautiful natural beach is 2 km away, a 35 minutes walk or a quick bike or cab ride.

The space
Uniquely located on the fringe of Gunjur village in very safe yet natural settings, the place is ideal for a budget stay exposing people to local settings and customs away from the tourist hub. The compound is spacious and contains two other main buildings and the watchmen quarters, there are also 4 lovely watchdogs. Its conveniently located close to the coastal road and can be reached within 45 minutes from the tourist centre of Kololi. Its also ideal to step foot into southern Senegal which is a 15 minutes ride away. The local fishing village can provide fresh sea foods and basics can be purchased in the village, a 5 minutes walk. For a little charge Saikou can provide local breakfast in the morning.

The neighbourhood consists of a classic Gambian village with both a village center and fishing center on the beach. We ask guests to kindly respect local customs by dressing appropriately and abstain from full nudity outside the house. We also ask guests to not bring visitors who are not included in the booking.
