Only walking paths and natural vegetation separate you from 540ft of rocky beach and waves hitting the shore. This cozy four season cottage has 2 romantic gas stoves, 2 bedrooms (queen bed, full bed), a living room (plush futon, 2 wingbacks, dinette set), a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. Along this road are small resorts, homes, cabins, and now unused fish houses from a time past when Croftville was primarily a fishing community. Croftville Road Cottages offers an experience reminiscent of days past when small mom and pop resorts were found all along the North Shore. However, our cozy cottages and luxurious suites are among the finest vacation rentals along Lake Superior. Grand Marais is a remarkable little tourist town that was voted “coolest small town in America”. Teresa and Mike Chmelik are the owners and operators of Croftville Road Cottages. They live in the owners quarters of their inn. In an era when most mom and pop resorts along Lake Superior are being closed, Teresa and Mike have built Croftville Road Cottages from a former resort property that had been unoccupied for 10 years while raising their children along Lake Superior in a small town setting. They have done as much of the renovations, repairs, and construction as they can themselves. When that has not sufficed, Teresa and Mike have relied on the help of family, friends, and skilled local craftsmen. You can find them around the resort either cleaning, doing yardwork, managing the office, or working on maintenance and small construction projects. They are glad to tend to your needs and answer any questions you might have about the resort or the Grand Marais area. And Teresa and Mike always have time to give you a personal tour of any vacant vacation rentals at Croftville Road Cottages. Just ask.
