Our house, Catherine House, with a large, private, comfortable rooftop terrace, is situated very near the center of the historic Lamu town and five minutes from the busy harbour. It is a good starting point for strolling around in the lively narrow streets, for shopping, for finding one of Lamus many restaurants and for boat trips on a traditional dhow to nearby fantastic beaches, islands and small villages.
See also www. for more information about the house, the island and Lamu town.

The space
Catherine House is a beautifully restored old swahili house with all the rooms set around an open air patio on the first floor.
Terrace: On the top there is a big roof terrace, partly covered by a traditional palm roof, where it is lovely to relax, to eat the islands seafood, alone in tranquility or together with friends. There is a large dining table. Chengo is a much appreciated cook and can buy and prepare the meals for you if you wish.
The house does not have a washing machine, but Chengo can when needed also wash your clothes. His service is not included in the rent.
Wifi: The house has wifi with the use for 500 sh included in the rent. If you need more time, Chengo can buy that for you.
There are three bedrooms, two with a double bed and one with two traditional large piri-piri beds.
There are two bathrooms with shower, one small living room and a kitchen.
