Testaccio is the area between the Tiber, via Marmorata and the Aurelian Walls with the Pyramid of Cestius and the characteristic Acattolico Cemetery, where famous writers, scientists and artists are buried, not far from Trastevere.
In recent years it has become a very lively district for the many haunts and restaurants scattered among the streets and under the Monte dei Cocci, the district still retains its character of "town in the city" with its bars and squares animated by the "real" testaccini "and the famous market.
