A large, quiet and private two-story house all to yourselves, on the edge of town, in a mature protected native forest with its resident bird life. Soak in the sheltered private spa pool and listen to the birds for accelerated relaxation.

The space
The house is not wheel-chair accessible - sorry. There are several steps up to the front veranda and front door.

There are stairs to the upstairs bedroom, which is open (mezzanine style). Also upstairs is a small bathroom with toilet and hand-basin.

Downstairs bedroom has a lockable door and more privacy than upstairs.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including a fridge with a small freezer.

There is a large screen TV, a free Netflix account for guest use, a DVD library and WiFi broadband internet with unlimited data, and a games table with board games.

On the main deck, accessed by ranch-slider door, there is an outdoor table and bench seats. A gas BBQ is provided.

The house is on the edge of Featherston, a small Wairarapa town. You can walk or bike down the road into the country-side (say hello to the neighbour's horses as you go). Further out, past farms there is a forest park (about 5km) with a renowned swimming hole.

Peter is into photography, we both love small dogs (have 2 toy poodles). We enjoy travel but don't get the chance to go as much as we would like.

We could not resist buying a bird sanctuary (Birdsong Cottage), protecting the forest and sharing it with others at the same time.
