Ferragudo is blessed and has some great beaches in or very close to the village. We can supply more info upon contact.

Praia Grande - Just a 5min stroll from the villa, has a long sandy expanse which never seems to get crowded! Great for families as its within the breakwater, beach dips gently into sea.

Pintadinho - A great beach outside of the breakwater, its great fun to use boogie boards here (we'll supply them). Caneiros - Not dissimilar to Pintadinho but larger. All Blue Flag.

Golf
The Algarve is renowned for being a golf mecca and their is a great choice all within a short drive from the Villa.

The local courses include, Championship Sir Henry Cotton course at Le Meridien. This course has the enviable reputation of having one of the top 500 holes in the world, a must for any avid golfer. As you turn home up the 18th, the magnificent estate buildings act as a backdrop to the green framed by an amphitheatre of trees - a superb spectator setting

Vale da Pinta (just a 5 min drive) has been the host 8 years consecutively to the European Seniors Tour Qualifying final. Vale de Pinta is rightly respected not just for its playability and challenging layout but for outstanding levels of beauty and enjoyment.

Gramacho (5 minute drive) hosted the Portuguese Ladies Open on a number of occasions. Gramacho is recognized as a championship course enjoyable and playable even by those with a higher handicap. Some courses may require a handicap certificate.

How to get there
Faro airport is 40 miles from Ferragudo. We can advise on competitively priced car hire companies. Airport transfers are available. Car hire is not essential but recommended. There is a car hire company in the village. A shuttlebus from the airport stops nearby.

Walking distance downtown Ferragudo / Golf, Tennis, Watersports, Watertaxi. 10 minutes drive to Portimao / Zoo Marine, 15 minutes drive to Silves, 20 minutes drive to Algarve Shopping Centre. 10 minutes drive to Slide and Splash, tennisclub Carvoeiro.

Carvoeiro and Portimao are the closest towns, each is a 10 minute drive from Ferragudo.

The name Vila Vida was born! In atmospheric Ferragudo, close to the sea, restaurants and in the neighbourhood of shops, golf resorts and tennis clubs, we felt us at home from the start!
