Where you’ll be

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Our neighborhood, Powelton Village, is a national historic district, full of stately Victorian homes in the University City section of West Philadelphia. It grew and developed with the expansion of trolley car lines to the area in the late 1800s and "Powelton soon became a choice residential spot for Philadelphia industrial tycoons" [wikipedia]. Later settled by many Quakers, it was one of the first, if not the first, integrated neighborhood in the 1950s. In the 60s and 70s, it was a counterculture center. Today it is home to many families, professionals, artists, students, professors and employees of local universities. Good local restaurants include: Sava's Brick Oven Pizza, Ramen Bar (ramen & sushi), UCity Beer Garden, Han Dynasty (authentic Szechaun), Sabrina's (breakfast, lunch & lunch), Distrito (great Mexican), Green Line Cafe (coffee, light fare), Nom Nom Bowl (poke), Zavino (wine bar), Starbucks, Blaze Pizza, Chipotle and many more

Hi, I am living in Philly, and work in marketing for a local health system in downtown Philly. I travel for my own adventure as much as I can. I've been hosting and traveling for quite some time, and live right up the street from this lovely garden apartment. My style of hosting is to provide people with a quiet, unique place where they can relax and unwind, yet is close to all that Center City and West Philly have to offer: restaurants, museums, parks, and shops.

During your stay
I live a block away so am often close-by if there's an emergency. I work in downtown Philly ("Center City" as we call it here)
