The stone cottage which is over 250 years old has been recently renovated and retains its traditional style: stone and white-washed walls, inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. There are also modern conveniences: heating, Wifi, TV with Netflix and fully equipped kitchen.
There is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with a vaulted ceiling. Upstairs is a cosy double bedroom.
Outside guests have their own patio and garden area with seating

The space
Situated 5 miles/8 kilometers (10 minutes’ drive) from the heritage town of Kenmare, renowned for its fine restaurants and traditional music pubs. The cottage is situated on a farm in the heart of the countryside. Outside there are views of the Sheen River valley and beyond to McGillicuddy Reeks. It is an ideal location for exploring the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara and the Wild Atlantic Way.
We don't provide breakfast but there is tea, coffee, milk and muesli provided.

I am a farmer and stonemason with a passion for old buildings. I'm also a lover of trees and have established a native Irish wood on the farm.
My wife Anita is a Failte Ireland regional tour guide who has worked on Garinish Island, Glengarriff and at Ross Castle and Muckross House in Killarney National Park. She is also a TEFL teacher, has a degree in English and Spanish and has published poems.
We are both musicians and play on the local traditional Irish music scene. I play the Irish bozouki and sing and Anita sings and plays bodhran and mandolin. Our daughter Aisling plays harp and sings professionally.
