Hope to make you comfortable without hovering. I've hosted on AirBnB since 2011, as one of the first AirBnB hosts in Ithaca. As a long-time Ithacan, I'll recommend Ithaca fun. I have been involved in music, journalism and counseling careers and got dirty and learned a ton restoring my 1840 Greek Revival home in downtown Ithaca, my new location as an AirBnB host.

I've been working remotely as a counselor and contact tracer during the pandemic and stopped hosting during the pandemic. I am just re-opening the beautiful separate upstairs space for guests with a brand-new kitchenette that looks like it was always in the house and am sensitive to people wanting their own space versus the old-school B&B model I used before. Always focused on cleanliness, my emphasis on that has of course grown because of the pandemic, with washing all linens between guests, airing out spaces and using air purifiers between guests and disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces.

I have been blessed with great AirBnB guests, and perhaps AirBnB self-selects for those who are open and courteous enough to share another's home. I have enjoyed using AirBnB as a traveler in California, Toronto, Buffalo, Florida and the Berkshires.
