Charmingly restored 1905 cottage. Updated, well-equipped kitchen--perfect for romantic dinners. Solid heart pine floors & cheery decor. Bathroom: claw-foot tub/shower & attached room with 2 sinks. Two bedrooms each with queen bed--one with a door to bathroom. 3rd bedroom with a futon to sleep one. Cozy front porch with seating, plus small screened porch off kitchen. Parking for 2+ cars on site. 1 1/2 blocks to the beach. 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive to "old town" Bay St. Louis.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house, except for our locked owners cabinet in the back bedroom, and one of the two closets in the third bedroom with the futon. In the "futon" bedroom off the kitchen there is a small wooden table near a power strip for use as a desk. Also there is a shed in the backyard that will be locked. It contains yard equipment and maintenance supplies such as paints, brushes and tools.

Our cottage on Sycamore street is in a quiet part of Old Town Bay St. Louis. We were told by local residents the street used to be called Children's Street.
There is a Methodist church across the street. It is pretty quiet except for Sunday church services, and the members are nice and welcoming!
About an eight minute walk straight down Sycamore St. brings you to the bay beach, where you will find restroom and outdoor shower facilities, a fishing pier and boat ramp...and plenty of sand and dunes to play on.
About a two minute walk toward the main part of town is an historic train depot area and a few shops and eateries. Plus the beautiful old Bay St. Louis Theatre on Blaize Street that was the setting for the 1965 movie "This Property is Condemned". The movie was based on a Tennessee Williams play, and starred Robert Redford and Natalie Wood!
A two minute drive or a short walk toward Old Town Bay St Louis will put you on Main Street. From the beach up Main Street are many fun shops, restaurants, a “serious bakery”, art galleries, antique shops, a pottery, and churches, etc. A fun walking street with plenty to see and do on either side of the street, with buildings showcasing old time architecture. Plus, the streets off Main offer more shops and eateries. So explore and enjoy!

Railroad Depot: within a few minutes’ walk from Sycamore Street Cottage. Includes a museum inside and walking paths and grassy areas, with a duck pond a short walk to the corner of Union & Hancock streets.
City Park: short distance form the duck pond by the railroad tracks at City Park Avenue & Hancock Street. A small park right by the tracks, with fun playground equipment for kids. *Just one of a number of other parks spaced throughout BSL!

We moved to Louisiana in the eighties to attend LSU. We fell in love with the Southern culture, warm climate, and friendly people. For decades we have been drawn to the beauty, wildlife, and slower pace of life on the Gulf coast--especially the small towns and beaches of Mississippi.
This led us to buy this charming cottage in Bay St. Louis, close to the beach…and we look forward to sharing it with our visitors from AIRBNB!
We have traveled from Maine to California, central America, the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico. And we experienced a few countries in Europe, with Italy our all-time favorite. The pace of life, the outdoor restaurants, the friendly people, the way they take time to slow down and enjoy life make it a wonderful place to visit.
We have found that lodgings with comfortable beds and linens, a well-equipped kitchen, and tastefully decorated rooms add to the enjoyment of travel. Our aim is to provide this level of comfort to our guests.
