Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Sunset Lodge is located on top of a cliff on the edge of Donegal Bay, close to Rossnowlagh Beach and convenient to local pub/restaurants.
Rossnowlagh beach is a popular surf spot and excellent for long walks - the beach extends for miles beyond Rossnowlagh. There is excellent sea angling here also and deep sea angling available in nearby Creevy.
Donegal is far enough north for the natural phenomenon, Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights to be seen, occasionally, in the northern sky.

The space
Sunset lodge is located on a generally quiet rural road by the sea. The local beach is a popular surf spot so the area buzzes with activity in summer and during weekends in winter, then lapses back into rural peace and quiet when the daytime buzz is over.
The lodge has its own cliff garden for the exclusive use of guests. There you can enjoy a quiet breakfast to the sound of waves lapping on the rocks far below; or an evening drink, watching the sun sink low in the west, marking a golden path across the ocean, almost to where you sit.
Two nearby pub/restaurants are convenient, well-reviewed, friendly spots for a drink or a meal in charming surroundings with the same splendid cliff top views as Sunset Lodge itself.

During your stay

The lodge is the next house to my home and so I am generally on hand to deal with enquiries, requests or problems. We are long time residents so can advise on local amenities and activities. We can also fill you in on local culture and history if your are interested in knowing Rossnowlagh lore and history; for example, the tale of the ghostly crew that sometimes can be seen on misty mornings, casting their nets into the sea, not far from the cliffs; or how some local fairy folk, disturbed in their ring fort by recent housing developments, took refuge in a local restaurant and refuse to leave.
