The cottage is a short distance from New Plymouth (6 mins by car), and from the Lake Maungmahoe mountain bike tracks. It is also on the access road to the Mangorei Track going up into the Egmont National Park. Mt Taranaki can be seen from the cottage and access to the mountain is approx half an hour drive. We have many nationally significant world class gardens close by and on Mangorei road- Tupare and Pukeiti gardens on Carrington road, Brooklands Park and the Taranaki Garden festival in late October/ November. WOMAD world music festival in March, Tupare gardens, Festival of Lights in January, Americana (American car festival) in February, Arts festivals, Taranaki arts trail, Len Lye centre -(modern art gallery) Puke Ariki museum. Approx 10 minutes to the wonderful coastal walkway, swimming and surf beaches. (Surf breaks are a plenty)
