Mahabalipuram is a relaxed small fishing village between Chennai and Pondicherry. A UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for ancient temples and incredible stone-carvings are a must-visit. There is also surfing and watersports to be enjoyed at the local beaches. It is an ideal place to be based while taking day-trips to attractions in nearby towns.
