Where you’ll be

Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

East Belfast is the birthplace of star footballer George Best, The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe Author C.S. Lewis & renowned musicians Van Morrison & Sir James Galway, amongst many other noted figures. It is also the home of the Northern Ireland government at Stormont, and the charming villages of Belmont and Ballyhackamore with their many cosy restaurants and coffee shops. The award-winning Titanic Belfast centre, sits further along the River Lagan upon land which once was occupied by the world’s greatest shipyard, Harland & Wolff. Alongside Titanic Belfast are two very famous vessels (now museums), the SS Nomadic, tender to the Titanic and HMS Caroline, one of our last remaining warships from WW1. Also present in East Belfast’s Titanic Quarter are the Titanic Studios where Game of Thrones is filmed. The whole city of Belfast is within easy reach of Albert Lodge, and visitors will particularly enjoy visiting the City Hall, Victoria Square and the culinary delights and nightlife of the Cathedral Quarter and University Quarter. Near to Belfast is the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra (beside the beautiful seaside town of Holywood), it is well worth spending a day or two here exploring these side by side museums and historic Holywood town. See how we used to live in a 1904 setting, and the iconic DeLorean sports car, made in Belfast and star of the Back to the Future films. For those looking for the more alternative side of our city’s history, we recommend taking a black taxi (London cab) tour of the city and we can assist you with pre-booking a tour. Alternative tours by taxi include the ‘Scots-Irish & America Tour’, ‘The Tour of Political Murals’, and ‘The Giant’s Causeway Tour’. We also recommend viewing the city’s rich heritage by boat with The Lagan Boat Company, or by bus with City Tours Belfast. The popular and historic St Georges Market is just 20 mins walk away, and open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Official websites including ‘Visit Belfast’ and ‘Discover Northern Ireland’ provide plenty of tips for your stay in Belfast. LEFT LUGGAGE - There are left luggage facilities in the city centre at Irish Tour Tickets, 10 Great Victoria St, Belfast BT2 7BA, and also at the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre, 9 Donegall Square N, Belfast BT1 5GB.
