A comfortable, detached traditional Donegal cottage in a spectacular location on the seashore, with access to our private sandy beach in front. + 7 acres (i.e. the beach is only accessible via our land, or the sea).

1x kingsize bedroom + mezzanine loft over main living space (limited headspace up there)

Seals seen regularly. Pets welcome (fee applies). WIFI, woodburner, central heating, Netflix. 5 mins to village (food, 2x shops, 3x pubs).

"The next day we awoke to flat calm, sunshine sharp, sprinklings of high cloud. We walked outside to a scene that electrified the senses: the distinctive smell of seaweed drying in the inlet below; a wondrous vista out to a long bay that looked like it was lit from within. The only sound was a distant tractor on the single-track lane. It’s for elemental experiences like these that people venture to this part of Ireland."

The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has a large turf-woodburner (first basket of turf included). Every window (apart from bathroom) has a sea view.

Phone signal - on 'Three' and 'Vodaphone' - other networks not tested.

Ground Floor:

Living Room/ Dining/ Kitchen - open plan. Turf burner, two sofas. Smart TV with Netflix connected (not terrestrial).

Kitchen - with oven, hob, microwave, fridge (small icebox), toaster, kettle

Bedroom - Kingsize bed and great mattress

Shower-room - with large walk-in wetroom type shower, 'rainfall' shower
head. Heated towel rail (towels provided).

Mezzanine loft: - with double bed, over main living space, note limited head room. Sleep with the window open and hear the waves!

You're at Dooey in Lettermacaward, West Donegal (between Dungloe and Glenties). It's probably the most beautiful section of Atlantic coastline in Europe.

Walk from the door to a dozen sandy beaches or head inland for mountains, castles, Glenveagh National Park, or further afield for daytrips to Giants Causeway, Slieve League cliffs, Malin Head or Derry/Londonderry.

We've 7 acres of pristine shoreline, with two adjacent cottages (each pet-friendly, sleeping four) in one of the most beautiful beachfront locations in Ireland. Our cottage have huge sea views, direct access to a small sandy beach only accessible from our land, good WIFI, and are snug all year round.

All within easy access of the best day-trips in Donegal such as Glenveagh National Park, Slieve League cliffs, the islands and best beaches.

Our property manager lives just 5 minutes away, but we use a keycode access system to make life easier - so we're on hand if you need us, but otherwise leave you in privacy.
