The Goat's Head Gatehouse is a stone and timber chalet reminiscent of Canada's National Park buildings. Built with attention to detail, it boasts a massive stone wood burning fireplace and floor to ceiling windows in the sunroom. This two bedroom, two bath chalet is perfect for a small family or friends looking for a quaint comfortable getaway from which to explore Mt. Robson and Jasper National Parks---both World Heritage sites.

The space
The Gatehouse offers all supplies from pantry items and condiments, spices, oils and vinegars to coffee and teas and breakfast items-- everything but fresh ingredients.

The Gatehouse also supplies all paper products and toiletries and including laundry soaps and dryer sheets, barbeque for the gas barbeque, wood for the wood fireplace, wireless internet and satellite TV as well as a land line.

Most of the furniture is custom made by local craftspeople and artwork is from local artisans. Custom railings and wood beam work have been fashioned from the property's trees--the 18 inches of stone walls are from local quarries.

We offer our own hike from the Gatehouse that meanders through our adjoining forest and up to a small waterfall and a viewpoint where guests can view a myriad of mountains.

We are just 4 km from the trailhead to the Berg Lake trail--a famous, spectacular hike winding up some 26 km through mixed rain forest, creeks, lakes and waterfalls. There are numerous small and longer hikes ( both gentle and strenuous ) within a 10 km radius.

The Mt. Robson ares is know for its abundant wildlife ( some you might see from the front lawn e.g. Bears ), incredible diversity of waterfowl and birds and many species of wild flowers and butterflies.

We are located in Mt. Robson Park in a small recreation property settlement---we are the only full time residents. The Gatehouse House is one of three vacation homes on our 12 acre parcel. In 2000, Mt Robson Park, enveloped the properties. To the north and south lies wilderness Parks and ours is the only small settlement for 100 km south to Jasper Park. You can pick up supplies in Valemount--34 km south---the Town has a number of cafes and stores. There are also many local businesses that offer recreational activities such as rafting, horseback riding, dog sledding and skiing, etc.
