The space
This great studio apartment features superb fixtures and all-new furnishings. Quality beds include a queen-size bed plus a love seat that pulls out to a full-size bed. Guests love the bright-open feel from the expanse of windows that look out onto the garden. There's a shaded back yard with chairs and tables, plus a optional seating area along the rear drive.

SANITIZED FOR YOUR HEALTH!
Your bathroom will be treated between guest stays and, as always, between guests all toilets, sinks, and showers will be disinfected with bleach. White towels are laundered in hot water with bleach. We strive for a sparkling, sanitary facility!

Rooms will also have an ozone treatment between guest stays, in addition to our standard peroxide-solution cleaning and laundry practices. Ozone is a naturally occurring gas created from oxygen atoms. The anti-pathogenic effects of ozone have been substantiated for decades. Its action upon viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa are the basis for its increased use as a disinfectant worldwide.

In addition to high-speed wi-fi, there is a Roku-enabled TV with a cable subscription included. The IKEA kitchenette is well equipped with a full refrigerator, convection oven, microwave, stovetop burners, electric tea kettle and coffee maker. (Coffee provided!) Designer and builder Edward Diaz created a superb modern bathroom with full-size shower (no tub) and hand-made wooden cabinets with European hardware.

The studio apartment is situated on the rear side of the property and in entered from either the rear drive or back yard. and shares a laundry room with the main house. The back yard is also a shared space that has an umbrella-covered patio, separate wooded seating area, and a BBQ setup for cookouts. Just outside the studio's front door, next to the driveway, there is another small area with seating.

Covered parking is provided on the rear driveway — one space per unit. Additional parking is available in the front of the house.

Where you’ll be

San Antonio, Texas, United States

Located in Texas's hottest-selling zip code (78247), Blossom Park is central to all areas of San Antonio. We've loved living here for 30+ years and enthusiastic about sharing this great location and charming home. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, the beautiful McAllister Park and Salado Creek Greenway, and legendary North Star Mall is 15 minutes from door-to-door.

You'll discover that the City's largest natural park (1,000+ acres) McAllister Park is a short walk down the street. And for swimmers, a City-owned Pool is a 3-minute drive away at nearby Blossom Athletic Center. There are morning and evening hours for the public at $4 per swim — free for seniors over 65.

Christopher and I married in 1977, and move to San Antonio in 1980. As artists and musicians, we headed West from Boston in search of opportunity "Out West". Christopher is a professional designer, illustrator and musician. I am a nonprofit management consultant. In addition to family, our cats, and travel our three big areas of interest are: 1. Music — we founded the San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble (SAVAE) in 1989 and have six commercial recordings. We've done 80+ concert tours across the country and have been featured in national newspapers and on NPR. 2. Art — Christopher is a highly-regarded designer and illustrator. You will see his work all over the house. There are 50+ children's books he's illustrated on the shelves in addition to the framed art. 3. Tibetan Buddhism — We have a close relationship with two Tibetan monks, who are our teachers and Dharma friends. Over the past 12 years these great Lamas have stayed with us at the house for months at a time, teaching Buddhism right in the living room! We do love to travel, and are DYI travelers, having avoided organized tours. We've been to India (to visit the monks mentioned above). We've also travelled to Israel, Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Canada, and Spain. We're lucky to have family in Massachusetts (where Christopher was born) and on Cape Cod — where we played music after Berklee College of Music. We have siblings and many relatives in Hawaii who've been there for 35+ years—so we know the Islands pretty well. Last, but not least, we have lots of family in California (North and South) where Covita was born. You are very welcome to enjoy the home we cherished for 35 years. In 2017 we relocated to a different part of town in order to care for Christopher's 88-year old Mother. As for the rental house, we are very hand-on, doing the yard work and laundry, cleaning (etc.) ourselves because we have loved this house for many years and want to remain connected.
