Where you’ll be

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

The neighborhood is super safe. Both the DC and Capitol Police police the neighborhood because you are across the street from the Capitol itself and all the congressional office buildings. Many members of Congress live in the neighborhood!

Coffee shops, restaurants and pubs along Pennsylvania Avenue are right around the corner with a range of American, Italian, French, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican and other cuisines, and more within few minutes walk. DC's historic Eastern Market with the weekend farmers market and art fair, and its 7-day a week artisanal food shops and eateries is a 5 minute walk away (see (URL HIDDEN) You'll be in foodie heaven.

Not only is the location within blocks of the Capitol and other historic buildings and monuments, the neighborhood itself is a historic district has several heritage walks and a rich history. When you reserve, the site opens up more information about the property that includes links to cultural events in the District.

Around the corner we have a Starbucks and Pret-a-Manger, both of which are the favorite coffee shops for politicians and political operatives. Great choices to soak up the DC atmosphere and eavesdrop on what is going on in town in political circles.

A range of grocery stores are within a walk, including a full-service (and reasonably priced) Yes! organic market 5 blocks away, the Eastern Market's food shops open daily (butchers, cheese shops, handmade pasta shops, prepared foods, florists and more), local bodegas within 3 blocks, and a Safeway a mile away. A brand new Trader Joe's is just 4 blocks away!

Super bike friendly. There are rental bikes at 3rd and D (1 block away) and 7th street via (URL HIDDEN) that you can affordably rent for the trip, day or longer! Also, from Capitol Hill you can bike to the surrounding areas and trails.
