Our place is a 1500 sq ft open loft, lake front cabin 57 feet from the rocky shore.

We're on a quiet bay of Shagawa Lake and just 1.2 hikeable miles from Ely (pronounced Ee-lee)

Our cabin has a "Cook's Kitchen"
-Everything you need to cook a full turkey dinner and then some (the only thing missing is an ice maker)

We do have well water and provide a Brita filtered water dispenser.

-Smart TV with access to Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTubeTV for cable channels
-Well stocked game cabinet with both traditional and current games, puzzles, coloring books, and crosswords

-One bedroom on main floor,
-One bedroom upstairs,
-and one open loft bedroom with huge picture windows overlooking the lake and the western shore of Shagawa (no curtains lakeside)
-Each bedroom has a queen-sized Tuft & Needle mattress

1 3/4 BATHROOMS
-Full bathroom on main floor
-and 3/4 bath with small shower on second floor

If you enjoy fishing, 2344 acre, Shagawa Lake is managed as a walleye lake and our quiet bay is where the locals cast their lines. Fishing is best at the beginning and end of summer.

Our neighborhood is quiet. Safe.
The cabin is less than half a mile to family friendly, sandy, public beach at Semer Park.

We share the point with Superior National Forest Sea Plane Base. You may hear planes taking off and landing, especially during fire season.

Ely is on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the largest protected wilderness east of the Rockies. Over 1 million acres of pristine forest, lakes, rivers, untouched by civilization, and deemed a no fly zone for commercial aircraft. There is little to no light pollution in our area.

We are spouses, Chrissie and Rich, two public school teachers in Rochester, Minnesota and we love Ely. We bought this home with the dream of retiring here.

We come up to Ely every chance we get and were even married on Bass Lake Trail in 2011. We love sharing our enthusiasm for this area with friends and family and enjoy hosting Airbnb guests.

Our favorite things to do in Ely include visiting family and friends, hiking, kayaking, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, riding the pontoon at dusk, staring at the lake, and hosting friends for dinner and games.
We are spouses, Chrissie and Rich, two public school teachers in Rochester, Minnesota and we love Ely. We bought this home with the dream of retiring here.
