5 stars! Great price, great room. Guests describe this room as a private apartment—spacious and secluded (solid plaster walls in a prewar building). Work from home, study, or relax watching Netflix in this huge (240 sq ft), bright, fully furnished, comfortable, private room. Great for a long-term student or solo adventurer. Price includes: electricity, wifi, cable tv/Netflix, air conditioner (summer), mini fridge, microwave, extra pillows and linens, free washer/dryer, cleaning of common areas.

The space
Great price, great room. Prewar building. Move right in—everything is included! This huge, bright room is gorgeous: it is furnished with a queen futon sofa bed topped with a 4” Ikea memory foam mattress, couch, coffee table, large work / dining table and comfortable office chair, armoire with plenty of hangers, chest of drawers, full length mirror, air conditioning, cable tv, fan, microwave and huge mini-fridge. It is spacious and has 11-foot ceilings, wood floors, new area rug, indirect lighting, sun-block drapery, and original art. Facing south, its double window captures the afternoon sunlight. The bustling, trendy neighborhood has a wide variety of bodegas, new excellent restaurants, and hangouts. Very conveniently located near public transportation -- the 1 train at the 145th Street stop is only blocks away as is the A/B/C/D line. CitiBikes available directly across the street.

Guest access
In addition to the room's mini-fridge and microwave, guests have access to the kitchen's full-sized refrigerator/freezer and gas stove/oven, as well as all the smaller appliances described with the photos. There is also a free washer/dryer in the kitchen area, wifi, and 1 1/2 shared bathrooms. Cable TV also in the kitchen. A printer (in the host’s private office) and office supplies are available.

4 other graduate students live in our huge 11-room apartment.
Common areas (bathrooms and kitchen/ washer/dryer) are shared. Please clean up after yourself, but general maintenance cleaning in common areas will be done for you. Please take out all large garbage items (pizza boxes, etc.) to the hallway garbage room.

The rooms in our apartment are newly renovated in a prewar apartment building.
