The space
Hiker House was originally constructed from Panabode cedar log timbers in the 1960’s as a home for local railway workers. A thorough renovation in 2013 offers modern convenience mixed with rustic touches like the vaulted pine ceilings. Enjoy the dining area and open concept kitchen with pantry, range, microwave and full-size fridge. Step over and relax in the cozy living room with couch, easy chair, and office area with a desk for laptops and beautiful picture window.

Valemount’s best house rental features an excellent location and plenty of space for the outdoor enthusiast. Valemount is a railway town and you will hear the train as it passes through. Swift Creek is steps away providing viewing of the spawning salmon in August which leads to hiking trails with mountain vistas. Enjoy skiing, local hockey and curling, sledding (skidoo), a world-class mountain bike downhill park, nearly endless backcountry trails, excellent restaurants, grocery/liquor/gift shops, and a full-service business community.

In fall of 2015 we took a month-long road trip across western Canada. After coming back to Vancouver we realized a change was needed. We had travelled through Valemount several times and just loved the place–the wilderness, the rugged mountains, and the friendly people. Sold!

In 2016 we purchased the Marklund's cozy duplex that now houses us on one side and welcomes travelers on the other. It's perfect for hunkering down in when its cold outside, and serves as a great base camp for travels and adventures around Valemount and the Robson Valley. We hope you'll come and see why this place is so great!
