Castle Lookout Apartment is a 3rd floor, 1 bedroom apartment in the Grassmarket, in the Old Town of Edinburgh. It's the perfect location to walk to all Edinburgh's city centre attractions. The apartment is ideal for a couple but there is a separate sofa bed available in the living room for an extra guest or extra 2 smaller guests. Please ask if your group is 4. We can accommodate children and infants, please just ask. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay! There is a double bedroom, living/dining room, small kitchen and shower room for your use. In contrast to overlooking the lively Grassmarket from the living room, the bedroom overlooks a quiet courtyard at the back and both with secondary glazing. So for those sleeping on the sofa bed you can enjoy the atmosphere in the Grassmarket but shut it out for a good nights sleep! If you need more space or need accommodation close by for other family members or friends we have a similar apartment on the 1st floor that can be booked also called Stunning Castle View apartment at Porteous Pend.

We like to meet you personally when you arrive and answer any questions you may have and help you get the most from your stay.

Edinburgh is exploding with life during the famous Festival Fringe and the Hogmanay party. However there is so much more to Edinburgh, making it an ideal all year round holiday destination. The apartment is right on the Grassmarket in Edinburgh (Airbnb seems to locate it in the wrong place!) - with plenty to see and do right on your doorstep. It's hard not to be drawn to all that the old town can offer unless of course you are looking for a quiet holiday to get away from it all! With only a few minutes walk to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Museum of Scotland and Greyfriars Kirkyard you've got plenty of time to linger in the many pubs, restaurants and cafes on the way. There is so much to see and do in Edinburgh whether for a few days or a few weeks. Visit the many shops, theatres, art galleries and museums. Or simply wander down the many closes and small streets of the old town and discover Edinburgh's gruesome past!
The Grassmarket itself gets its name from local farmers selling hay, corn and seed. It is better known however for it's public hangings, taking place until 1784 and for the famous Porteous riot. Take a tour and discover the story of the body snatchers Burke and Hare, how half-hingit Maggie survived the Gallows and the world famous story of Greyfriars Bobby!

As the apartment is self catering we will let you enjoy your stay in peace. If however there are any problems you can contact us at any time during your stay. We are therefore contactable at any time of the day to help you (Airbnb messaging, mobile or apartment phone) and will try and solve any issues as quickly as possible.
