Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Our "gite" is a self-contained fully equipped 2 bedroom cottage in the most beautiful part of Salt Spring, the south eastern tip, near Ruckle Park. From our cottage, you can walk to this historic working farm, explore its forested trails, and then head to the many beach areas a short distance away. Our sunny, private, and welcoming get-away boasts comfy amenities and spectacular pastoral views. Farm stands, bakeries, cheese makers and art studios are nearby.

The space
The cottage is decorated in a French Country style. Doors open to covered decks and a lavender garden. Along with a full bathroom, including washer and dryer, there is an outdoor shower to enjoy in the summer months. A wonderful grass field surrounded by snake rail fences provides room to relax, have a barbecue or bird watch!
In the cottage there is a queen bed in each of the two bedrooms. We do welcome children but note that infants and children count in the maximum of 4. The cottage is most comfortable for 2-3 people. And while there is a large grass and garden area, and neighbours at a distance, we ask that people use gentle voices while outside, especially children.

Where you’ll be

Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

Our neighbourhood is comprised of many 5 acre properties. Many folks have large gardens, farm animals or dogs. Near us, you can visit the Salt Spring Bread Company and the Woodshed Picnic Supplies . Or, drive along Beaver Point Road and stop and the many roadside farm stands that boast flowers, baking, vegetables and more! A short drive takes you to renowned Salt Spring Cheese Co. There are numerous trails for walking, a beach access not too far away, and then just a 10 minute walk, the most fabulous park and campground in BC: Ruckle Provincial Park, that features farmlands with sheep, trails and spectacular beaches. Also in our neighbourhood and just a 10 minute walk on a gorgeous trail, nature lovers can visit the famous "grandmother tree": a spectacular and ancient Douglas fir. While our cottage is 20 minutes away from Ganges, the south end is truly worth it for all that it has to offer!

During your stay

The entire property is 5 acres and our main house is located nearby. We are always accessible by phone or text. Usually we will greet you on your arrival or shortly after, and show you the ropes! (If not we will contact you by phone. ) We leave lots of information about the cottage and ideas for visiting, but we are pleased to answer any guest questions. We also know people like privacy, hence the self-catered breakfast. We do ask people to respect the neighbourhood tranquility when outside on decks or in the field.
