The space
A Paradise Mage in Périgord, for the one looking for SUN SPACE & SILENCE

- To see the BLACK PERIGORD in a different way. Just 10 minutes far for the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat. Come and taste a charming farmhouse, completely renovated with a modern touch, to bring this house back to life, whilst respecting its soul and its history.
- Typical house of the Périgord of the XIXe century, with a cosy decoration to make you feel at home, to create a haven for you to get away from the stresses and strains of the city life, whatever the season.

• This Little House in the Prairie is waiting for you, surrounded on all sides by verdant countryside and with splendid views of the hilltops of the Périgord Noir ("cime" meaning hilltop, from which the name of our village Simeyrols {Cimeyrols}) derives. Wake up in the morning to bright sunny skies and a view over the surrounding valleys with their morning mists. Having breakfast or dinner in the garden, overlooking the hollow where the deer come to graze at the edge of the wood, between light and shade, is a joy

• This gite is part of the 4 accommodations we have, built along a hill & the path of the BRUYERES (heather), in 2 Hamlets of MAGRIL & the BRANDETTES, in a property of 70 000m2 (200x600m). So this property with lot of space in between each accommodation, insure you to find a house completely independent for the exclusive use of only one family, 100m2 suitable 6 adults & 2 children, to preserve the privacy of each one and for peaceful stays people are looking for, when coming for holidays on country side.

We also have in this hamlet of Magril, a Gipsy Caravan. Independent cosy shepherd hut for 2 persons with its équipements. But that can be used as an additional double bedroom for the Green Haven Gite.

In the Hamlet of the Brandettes, where we live, we have another guest house for 4/5 persons including 2 or 3 children and/or an extra bedroom for 2 persons

Those rentals are with enough distance in between to preserve the privacy of each one

• Atypical house, because once a whole family lived in one room. They cooked in the fireplace, lived around the table nearby the fireplace. That was the only way to warm them. And they were all sleeping sitting in a little bed. Gradually, we renovated the house, we added rooms using the space of the barn to give it all the modern comforts. With larges walls of 50 cm made of stone, this farmhouse is naturally cool in summer. And with volumes more reasonable than in a Manor or Chartreuse, it is a warm & cosy home in all season with 8 electric radiants & 2 fireplaces.

This Farmhouse has 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom
- 1 Master Bedroom with a Queen Size Bed
- & Another Double Bedroom on an open Mezzanine
with 1 double + 1 single beds for 2 or 3 teenagers
- Those Bedrooms have their bathroom in the corridor in between with a large Italian shower, 1 washbasin & Toilets
- Air Cond. Upstairs

- 1 Master bedroom with a large round bed (2,40m) & an enclosed fireplace and its own bathroom (with a bathtub & washbasin)
- & Another double bedroom with 1 double & 1 Single beds with its own bathroom (with a cabin Italian shower)

• For years, since we had worked in publishing in the Paris region, we were eagerly returning to the cradle for our too rare vacation, saddened the whole way back so much space, light, calm, hills, scents, and the seasons of our Dordogne were going to miss us in a world of macadam. Now that water, electricity and even high-speed internet finally arriving at the bottom of the woods, working remotely, we have decided to put our living environment in line with our aspirations ; and we now invite you to share our farm, a family and friendly setting.

• For many years working as a photographer in Paris, we were in hurry to come back home for too rare and too shorts holidays. On the way back to Paris we were crying most of the time thinking how the space, the light, peaceful landscapes, the hills, the seasons of the Périgord would miss us in town where everything is grey : the pavement, the buildings and the sky. Finally with the Internet high-speed reaching our house in the middle of the wood, it was possible to work and live there. And we are glad to be able to share it with you now.

• Family homes where my grandmother had returned to live for her retirement after 70 years running the world. She thought it was too nice to live in the Périgord to go and see somewhere else & behind each turn, there are always beautiful landscapes & houses. My father worked 30 years to wake up this beautiful sleeping wood by giving him the essential water & electricity. We've taken over the past 30 years to make these places more magnificent in their green setting.

Too private for holidays, we know how precious moments & are sorry to see some abuse of the appeal of the Périgord Noir, the richness of its heritage to avoid being welcoming. So we try with our advice, while leaving you free of your choices, to guide you to what the Perigord has the best to offer for a memorable stay that makes you appreciate it as much as we love it from the crib.

• My Grand mother used to live there. She's been traveling all the around the world and has decided that the Périgord was the right place to get retired, with beautiful landscapes, houses and castles behind every curves. Then my dad gave us some advice for the renovation of that house and we've been working on this farmhouse for the last sixteen years to bring it back to life and to give to this Cocoon all the today's comfort . During your stay, we will give all our best addresses for you to appreciate this part of France as we do since we are born.
