Our Spacious apartment (on the ground floor of our home) has two bedrooms - one with a double bed the other a double and single. The bathroom is an en-suite off one of the bedrooms.
There is off street parking, a full kitchen, living area with Television (Freeview channels) and free WIFI. We are only a 5 minute walk to the many restaurants, shops and our beautiful lake. Our Apartment has a heater that heats the area up in no time and is operated on a timer for 3hrs at a time.

The space
What's unique about our apartment is it's spaciousness in both the living area and the bedrooms. It is comfortable, warm and quiet with little to no road noise from the street.
We do live upstairs however with the associated 'noise' of people moving around above, which we try to mindful about.

Te Anau, Southland, New Zealand

Te Anau is known as the "Gateway to Fiordland" and has a resident population of some 2,500 people, which swells to around 7,000 in the Summer months.
There are many walking tracks for day (or longer) walks.
We have cycle tracks, one of which runs along the bank of the Waiau River in Fiordland National Park. Bicycles can be hired from Outside Sports or one of the other three options - including electric bike hire.
Fiordland Cinema for "Ata Whenua" a local helicopter pilot, Kim Hollow's 35min aerial view of his vision of parts of Fiordland never seen by the average person, filmed when he was operating as a Deer Recovery Operator. Well worth a watch and thoroughly recommended on the big screen.

The Black Dog Bar beside Fiordland Cinema on The Lane - for NZ style Tapas.

Redcliff Cafe on Mokonui Street - Winner of numerous NZ Beef and Lamb awards.

If you have children with you, there are two main playgrounds; Lion Park and a smaller one at the boat harbour.

Hi, my name is Julie and I'm married to Ian. Ian and I were both originally from Invercargill moving to Te Anau 1988/89. Between us we have 7 children and 10 grand-children scattered across Australia and here in Te Anau.
We've travelled in Australia visiting family and both enjoy the NZ outdoors and camping. Ian is a Professional Fishing Guide with clients from all around the world. We both also work in retail/tourism and during the summer our stores are open 12 hours a day 7 days a week, so as a consequence - we are not home alot!
We are pleased to be able to offer our apartment as a base for clients/visitors wanting a more 'homely' accommodation and are more than happy to advise on activities in our beautiful part of the world.
We have not listed breakfast as an option but we do leave 'complimentary' continental breakfast options in the apartment.

During your stay

Unless Guest's stay occurs during our days off, my husband and I will both be at work. As we work shift-work during the summer months one or other of us could be at home at any time, with both of us being home after 9pm at night.
I can be found at Jade Country where we specialize in NZ Greenstone Jewellery.
Ian can be found at Outside Sports for all your outdoor requirements, including the Hiring of any gear you may require if walking one of our many tracks.
