Lapa is a Central District of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. It has a wide variety of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and themed pubs, which cater to all tastes along its 13 streets. Known as the cradle of Bohemian Rio, in the current effervescent era, new establishments have opened.
It is also famous for its architecture, starting with the Carioca Aqueduct, a main reference point and postcard place, which was built to function as an aqueduct in Colonial times, but since 1896 has served as tram route that connects the city centre to the neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
