House rules
This place isn’t suitable for children under 12 and the host doesn’t allow pets, parties, or smoking.
Cosy Room is a great choice for it's price, you get comfort, OCD cleanliness, a really great hearty homemade breakfast ,and lots of friendly helpful hospitality. To us, all of our guests are family!

We have always been welcoming to and have hosted all races, religions and philosophies, view points and genders, including LGBT. Unfortunately, being a traditional, 115 year old Philly row home we do not have a wheelchair ramp, but any other way of accommodating special needs, we will do our best.

The space
***Reservation are not accepted without profile information and recent full-faced profile picture.***
Due to the current Covid 19 pandemic circumstances, before booking, we must first be notified as to where you are coming from, your means of travel from your starting point and up to our door. You must be wearing a full cover mask; including nose. Your non contact body temperature will be taken at the door. Your luggage will be disinfected at
the door. You will then go directly to your room, change clothes and wash hands.
I am sorry to be so restrictive, but we live in the premises and must remain safe, as well as yourself. During the pandemic we will only take one room booking at a time, so the shared guest bathroom becomes your only use private bathroom.
Normally, we serve a sumptuous breakfast with everyone in high happy conversation together at the table. Presently, you will be alone at the table. the breakfast will still be good, just not a ridiculous amount of choices as usual, since business is so restricted.
I hope this is all understandable and acceptable considering the circumstances. We all must do our best to stay safe and healthy, so you can come back again in better times.

The room faces the sheltered back garden, so you wake up to the chirping of birds and the trickling fountain. Bathroom with shower, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer, shared with one other guest room every day OCD cleaned thanks to me. Full breakfast, including home made baked goodies thanks to Steve the retired chef, and I make awesome omelettes. Most of the food we prepare is organic and local when possible. Spring, summer, and fall, weather permitting, you can relax after a foot weary day in our lovely little garden with a glass of iced tea or a BYO bottle of wine.
Philly is old, built before there were cars, so street parking is the only accommodation in all neighborhoods. Street parking is safe and free. However, being residential, parking is easy during the day, but starting around 4 pm neighbors come home from work, and by 5-6 pm it becomes a hunt for spots. After 8-9 pm it is impossible, there will not be a single spot left anywhere. So if you are coming by car, come early, park, and you can forget about it until time to go. Philly is safe, walkable, and has great public transport.
As fair warning, the room is called cosy room because it is cosy; bed, double shelf table, chair, towel rack, 1/2 closet and enough room for a moderate amount of luggage. The bed is a genuine antique sturdy wood farm bed which means it is 3" narrower than a standard double. It is comfortable for normal size couples who definitely prefer to snuggle close, but not recommended if one or both are really tall or plus size.
If you prefer a queen size bed, we have our second room, Sunny Serenity. It is a much bigger room with a really comfy queen size bed and an excellent air conditioner.

Guest access
You are welcome to enjoy our garden.

Other things to note
We are a 114 year old traditional 3 story Philadelphia row house. The guest bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor.
The bed is a genuine antique sturdy wood farm bed, which has been in my family for 180 years, which means it is 3" narrower than a standard modern double bed. It does have a modern firm mattress. It is comfortable for 1 person, or a couple who are normal size and definitely like to snuggle. Couples who are plus size or over 50 years old and used to spread out in queen size beds please check out our other room, Sunny Serenity, which has a very comfortable queen size bed.

We are in the heart of South Philly, in the Passyunk Square area, half way between the historic district and the sports centers, walking distance to famous Geno's Cheese Steaks ( 4 blocks), Italian Market ( 6 blocks), East Passyunk Square (3 blocks), and South Street. The area is loaded with excellent fine restaurants of varying ethnicities and tastes including vegan, vegetarian, halal and kosher. On the corner catch the 29 bus to Broad Street or the 47 to historic Old City, Society Hill and downtown, or on a beautiful sunny day everything is no more than a 20 minute walk.
